I have ADD
I was diagnosed in the seventh grade, I don't see myself as any different. I don't take medicine for it, (it made me jittery, and I don't like meds anyway) I had one Woman ask me If I had ever been called retarded....I just stared at her, but I knew she didnt mean it the way it came out, so I let it slide and explained to her that I've never known anyone to even look at me differently. That's the only time that what a person said has ever affected me. |

That's the only time that what a person said has ever affected me. Thank you for sharing your perspective. As a parent, I have a different perspective. As a parent, we hope that our children will be happy and healthy... and have the most uncomplicated life as possible. My son is in first grade... this will be something that he will have to deal with... possibly into adulthood. It isn't that I am worried that he will be teased or called names, etc. It's that he will have a disadvantage. I am not saying that his is a great hindrence. It's a parent thing for it to affect me. Personally, I think that if it didn't effect me.. that I didn't get upset about it... it might show more that I'm a 'poor' parent than a good one! As a parent, I have been affected for the past 1 1/2 about him not making gains in learning in school... when he is an extremely intelligent child. So, this is just one part of the process of figuring this all out. And as parents, we take a long of responsibility on ourselves about our children. |

I completely understand, My mother was upset hen she found out about me. I'm just trying to put you at ease, as while I'm not sure what his life will be like, I can tell you that I had a perfectly "normal" childhood. (...i don't believe in normal..lol)
It has become a pretty common learning disability, and people don't tend to react in a mean way when you tell them. |

I am not worried about anyone overreacting about him. It's just a parent thing... all I can say. |

What is in meatless sausage? Made of veggies but has sausage and maple flavoring... it's made by morning star... I think that's the brand name. Couldn't exactly tell you off hand what is in it... but I think it's the same thing as veggie burgers. It was good, but I also like veggie burgers too! |
