~ the ornament ~ I remember the day she gave it to me It's the month of December Snow-angels and Christmas Her first year of school She's four Her little hands hold it,eyes sparkling, anxious It's in pink tissue paper Tied with white ribbon Now, Mommy, open it now. An ornament One section of egg carton, painted bright blue, string attached I made it, Mommy Beautiful A thankyou kiss Picking the right spot on the tree That first time and every Christmas since then Other ornaments draw my eye, but none are as special, as that now faded, aged, one section of egg carton, painted bright blue, string attached. |

I think you've hit the meaning of life right in the heart.

You've managed to capture true emotion in a small box... that was amazing.

it's always the thoughts rather than the materialism that captures our hearts the most.....hopefully the memories never fade like the ornament.....Hold them dear...me liked this, now if I could only find that scooter I build with roller skates and a lawnmower handle...those were the days when we appreciated life and each other.
