Topic: Avast Hates Spybot? | |
---|---|
So strange as it may sound, Avast considered Spybot components a trojan earlier tonight on both my computers. I let Avast do it's thing and purge Spybot and I manually took out what was left after the scan. I'm going to reinstall Spybot on both systems and go from there. As of right now I haven't had problems after reinstallation. Could this be just a simple conflict or a rarity of sorts?

Essentially, the spyware removal software is attempting to masquerade as a different program to protect itself in case malware comes looking for it. The anti-virus sees that it is doing this and assumes it is a trojan as that is what a trojan horse is. as for rarity, i have no idea. |
