I'm still reeling over all the Miss piggy and Kermit sexual innuendos..I mean really, a pig and a frog. What subliminal mind fo cK were "they" doing to us there... 
That reminds me of penguin love. Many decry penguin love and find it an abomination. Whereas penguin love is a wonderful, beautiful feeling. Same with frogs and pigs. We look at them with disdain when we associate them with sexualism; but to a pig there is nothing more beautiful and fo cKable than a pig of the persuasion or gender that makes the first pig turn ground with his sizzling, red-hot nose. Same for frogs. |

I find quite a few things about the smurfs a little disturbing...
why??? because smurfette was the only female and then all of a sudden there was a baby????
 "ette" means "lesser". So the name "Smurfette" means "The lesser smurf". Which sort of is a hint of how the creator of the smurfs viewed females
I never watch that program. I think it should be taken off the air given what mirror has posted. It sounds like a bunch of subliminal programing of our children to me. KEEL THE SMURFS! |

It was a popular childrens program that was on television about 30 years ago. The world was a bit different back then about sexism,but the guy that created show really did have a low opinion of women for even back then

Although she is the focus of some childish heterosexual rivalries, especially between Hefty and Handy, there is never any real heterosexual tension in the Village. The tension is more between Hefty and Handy themselves, who seem to be more interested in impressing each other than Smurfette

I have done a lot of research on this. The guy that created the Smurfs was a very weird fellow. It was all kept very hushhush at the time by the production company. I don't think the Smurfs were "harmful" though. Just some of the themes and issues of the show are odd once you look into them deeper
