Are current domestic abuse laws sexist? Does anyone know the burden of proof to prove domestic abuse has occurred? If it is possible for women to domestically abuse men, than how can it ALWAYS be wrong for a man to hit a woman..isnt self defense self defense....?

Just curious about some of the confusing double standards of the law.

Yes the laws are sexist. Same for someone that murders their own children. They will argue they were out of their mind but a man would be considered a monster. The feminists want equality well here ya go. I've heard of some men being abused and they were laughed at. There are some mean women out there.

Being a victim of domestic abuse it's not a good place to be no matter if you're a woman or man. These double standards have got to go.

Thank you for posting this and making others aware that is should go both ways.

Unfortunately from experience i can say that the laws regarding domestic abuse arent substantial enough regardless of your sex. Its always one word against anothers, and in most cases the victim does not report the abuse until its too late or have retaliated in self defense.
I imagine it is more difficult for a man to report domestic abuse than for women, and so its left until they do finally retaliate, and no you can't blame them for doing so.
Definately laws need to be changed.

I agree, there are many laws that seem to be gender preferenced. I also think that giving women a right to determine they dont want responsibility for a child, by having abortions is not fair if the man is not given the same right to CHOOSE avoiding his responsibility. I dont know how the law can force men to pay the (financial) price for children they dont want(although I believe they SHOULD) if they cant force women to pay the (physical) price for children if they dont want them.

I could go on with laws that are unfairly applied but I just thought, in the wake of the Chris Brown/Rihanna incident that it was an interesting topic. NOONE asked or cared if Rihanna had ever gotten physical with Chris, they just immediately made him solely responsible and the sole aggressor.
