When do you know if you're totally completely in love? Is it that kiss that makes you week in the knees, or is it that hug that makes you feel safe? How can a four letter word b so complex? If said at the wrong time things can go terribly wrong, but if said at the right time the other person is yours forever. Love can make you sick, it can make you weak, it can bring lives to mere memories of the past with no hope for the future. How can something so strong, make one so weak? This is the question of love, the temptation of of that red apple that can bring pain. On the other hand love can make you feel so good. You feel needed you feel like therte is no one else in the world except for the two of you. You trust this person with your life and lean on them whenever you need a shoulder to cry on. Its amazing how one little word can change everything. It changes your outlook, your input, and your life. Great love is falling everytime you see that one person, but they are always there to catch you. You never come back from great love, there are always scars from it if it ends, its something you never forget, partially due to the fact that you don't want to forget. Love starts out so innocently but ends up to be so strong....

If you love someone, let them know before it's too late...let them know you are always thinking of them, let them know how you feel, in the lng run, you'll thank yourself, because who knows, you may end up falling in love with that person...

Love poems have been found in the tombs of the Pharoahs in the Valley of the Kings...so people have been writing about this four-letter word for more than 3,600 years...and speaking of it for even longer. All I'm sure of is that you know it when you're in it...and there's nothing else like it. I've been moved by the words of many over the years...from those of long-since forgotten scribes...to Dickinson. Still, every now and then you hear or read something that speaks to you. A Diana Krall song has these lyrics that I've felt...

"Oh, you're in my blood like holy wine
You taste so bitter and you taste so sweet
Oh, I could drink a case of you, darling
And still be on my feet
I'd still be on my feet"

I like the way Shane MacGowan put it in his two masterpieces:

From 'A Rainy Night in Soho'
"Now the song is nearly over,
We may never find out what it means,
But there's a light I hold before me,
You're the measure of my dreams"

From 'Fairytale of New York'
"Her: You took my dreams from me,
When I first found you."
Him: I kept 'em with me babe,
I packed them with my own,
Can't make it out alone,
I built my dreams around you..."

Nahh....it goes well before that.

Love is a cruel joke played on us by some deity that happened to be bored one day.

Kinda like the mean kid with the magnifying glass over the anthill.
