They did a killer job with "Let the Right One In", aside from that, The original "Dawn of the Dead", "Night of the Living Dead", "Evil Dead 2" and "Army of Darkness", "May", always classics..."Nosferatu",
"The Exorcist", "The Omen", "Strangeland", "Cabin Fever" was hilarious..."Izumaki"...Japan knows how to do horror...
I should really profess my love for horror movies in the Religion forum.

Hellraiser is probably my favorite...

but to throw a new one in the mix...

"In the Mouth of Madness"

It deals with the concept that if an author can make enough people believe something it can become reality.

Hellraiser was good. Loved the concept. Never saw any of the sequels, tho.

An off-beat horror flicked that I liked was Serpent and the Rainbow. Had to do with Voo-doo, down in Haiti.

Creepy.

Rosemary's Baby
The Excorcist
The Shining

and

Ghost Story. I don't think anyone has mentioned it. Came out in 1981 and starred Fred Astaire, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Melvyn Douglas and John Houseman. For three of them it was their last movie. Is the story of how an event from college comes back to haunt them as old men. The fact that they were quite old at the time seemed to make what happened even scarier.

All 3 of those were good, especially The Shining - and the Excorcist REALLY creeped me out.

But I had never heard of Ghost Story, I will have to check it out.
