Women Prosecuted for Smuggling Children

PHOENIX (AP) - An increasing number of illegal immigrants who left their
children back home are hiring complete strangers to bring the youngsters
into this country by bluffing their way past U.S. border inspectors.

Typically, the stranger poses as the child's mother or another relative
as she drives through a checkpoint. Sometimes the children are given
cough syrup to sedate them and ensure they don't say or do anything to
make border guards suspicious.

U.S. officials say they are seeing more such cases because stepped-up
enforcement along the border has made it more dangerous to sneak into
the country by trekking across the desert.

I don't see a crime in reuniting children with their parents.

The crime is to make money out of it, and big money at that.

I think the tighter borders is retarded. We are stopping people from
coming to this country that want to work. If we let these people come
to our country and taxed them it would help our economy.

I didnt consider the money, but I count three crimes. Look again!

giving these children to complete strangers,

and drugging them.

yes, abandoment, and abuse, and third smuggling humans (illegal
immigrants)

this is a HOT issue with me !!! i totally believe that the children
should be reunited with thier parents... !!!! and if the goverment
could get thier **** togeather... than the moms and dads of these
children wouldent have to hire compleate strangers to do that for
them!!!!!!

Do good citizens abandon their children, or allow them to be
drugged?????

You could probably tack on falsefying documents. and lying to law
enforcement to avoid prosecution. lets see what else.....

At what point or in what instance would you entrust your child to a
complete stranger??

Im not a parent, and I sure aint a mother, but in what imaginable
circumstance would you entrust your child to a complete stranger?

When that is the only way I will ever see them again.

If my children was kidnaped,missing or we were seperated I would pay a
stranger to reunite us.

Interesting, after the fact answer, but why leave them in the first
place?

U.S. officials warned that entrusting children to a stranger is foolish,
too.

"There's no guarantee that you're going to be reunited with your child.
There's no guarantee that your child is being cared for," said Brian
Levin, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman in Arizona.

Big risk!! I guess it would have to be well worth it!!

The legal and moral way for illegal immigrants to be reunited with their
children is for them to return to their country of origin and stop be
illegal immigrants.

people to totally, like, illegally smuggle the like, illegal aliens kids
in so they can, like, be a wholly illegal family. Word! Like, count me

What is the opposite of legal? You might have to look that one up. Or
you could totally, like, ask a cop!
