Topic: Questions you would ask when dating.. | |
---|---|
When you are really into someone...how personal of a question is too personal?? If someone asked you to write a resume of your personal relationships (and you really liked this person) would you? Do you think a credit and or a background check is too far out of line? Have fun with this one everyone

No, I wouldn't and they couldn't make me. Personally, I wouldn't talk about past relationships and I hope she won't go on and on about hers. My last g/f did, and it was really tiresome. A cc and b/g check is definitely out of line, and besides, they cost money. People didn't do that sort of thing in the 70s, so why should we now? JMO.

If they want to do a credit / background check they are treating you like a business deal ...

As a lyricist, one who enjoys writing, I would love to make a relationship resume to give a potential partner insight up front about what does and doesnt work with me. I would expect the same in return though. As to the credit and background check, the person who would ask me is probably does not share my priorities and therefore not a match.

If marriage was coming up, then credit and such could come up..maybe a trip to the doctor together. If some one wants a resume of my past relationships...hell no. We all have a past and it should not matter, it has made us who we are.

[/quote I do tend to agree...It seems that times are changing and this seems to be the new internet thing now.....And also I do agree in talking about past relationships except I feel it is important the other person know that you are not hiding anything and that your are sincere about who you are... |

Right, I think if you are 'really into' someone, it helps if they feel the same,,in which case nothing should be secret if it holds importance to one of you. The questions one asks though, tell alot about who they are. If a majority of the questions were about career, for instance, that person may place finance above romance. If the majority of questions are about ideal dates or family values,, that person may place extreme importance on family and relationship roles.

not dealing with no credit check we can work thru credit issues

I usually suspect that their credit is f'd up and that they have shoplifted at somepoint in their life.More important questions are:
"Have you ever attended or considered participating in anger management?" "Have you been properly wormed?" |

I ask questions and asked to be asked questions! It usaully tells you quite a bit and sometimes you just decide hey we aren't a fit and that's okay! I ask about children, mine and hers. I ask about what are her long term goals as far as a relationship goes. I ask what their politics are cause i am a bit of a right wing extremist and won't date a democrat! Not that democrats are bad to date at all! just that we are probably gonna argue a lot and not agree on things! I ask if they beleive in abortion thats a big one! I tell them about things that women find unattractive about me! "right wing bomb thrower"! lol.... I let them know i am horney a lot...lol you know what it's good to just be honest and tell people things before feelings start to develop in my opinion. I remember i met a girl at @@@@@@ and her and i hit it off big time! Then they got into talking politics and i was crushed! I really liked her but after the abortion conversation it was like i could not see ever dating her! lol...vent!

yeah,, everything ronnie said except the abortion or politics thing, I dont think my guy is going to have to contemplate abortion and politics , for me , is just a small part of life and not a deal breaker. oh, and these conversations should occur,, gradually, not right up front.

Well?
How well do we talk,on the phone ,or in person,do you live close enough to have a relationship? I won't deal with anyone that is 35 miles away,i know that more then that is, a long distantance relationship.I want to see a person at least a couple times a week, not that we have alot to do,but just getting to know the person |

Have fun with this one everyone Timing is everything...I'm going to get to know someone over time...and almost any thing can be discussed. As for me...not too demanding...don't need to hear every gory detail of your past. If you're comfortable...I'll listen. Not much I won't talk about. Don't make issues out of things that aren't so...not much troubles or vexes me (love that word) |
