"Chained to all the places that he never wished to stay
Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say
As he faced the sun he cast no shadow...

As they took his soul they stole his pride..."

Do you think that a life is sometimes only a sentence away? If you were to say something at a certain time instead of holding your tongue, things could have turned out differently? Do you regret any moment in your life that you should have, could of, but for whatever reason did not say something to someone?

It would be hard to believe that everyone at one time or the other did not tell someone how they really felt. But instead keep quiet thinking it was for the best. I know I have and at times wish I had that moment back once again just to say the things that should have been said............whoa

Well

I don't regret to many things in my life

But I do regret not having the chance to ask my best freind Tom
Why he ran out on my wedding

I never saw him again

they say on your death bed, people regret the things they didn't do not the things they did...that rings true for me....i don't regret anything i have done...but i have a few regrets about things i wish i had. However that is life...

I think sometimes things happen when they're meant to. Maybe if you had said something to someone at a certain time, it wouldn't have worked out for whatever reason. But later it would, again for whatever reason. Life is funny like that.

I've got a couple of those, yeah. The sad part is I knew I was making a mistake, even at that time (!), by remaining silent. The intervening years have done nothing to alter that opinion.

I do not regret too many things in my life, if I need to say something to someone I will, but there is only one regret that I have and never could get a chance to fix that - I have lost my sister 5 years ago and I regret not telling her how I felt about her before she has passed on.

I have discovered the incredible freedom personified by Edith Piaf when she sang "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien!" There's no really good translation from French into English that captures the heart and soul of this song...it is poetic, earthy and can make the hair stand on my neck to this day. And no one has ever sung it with the emotion she did.

None of us is really very accurate at predicting our own future. Life has an uncanny way of taking the twists and turns we don’t foresee.  Still, we are more likely to pick up on, and magnify, the things on which we choose to focus.

So, if you focus on the capacity for unhappiness and pain, then that is what you will likely experience most in your life. If you focus on your strength, your courage, your capacity for love, your humanity and your potential, then that is likely what you will live. These things may be driven underground in an abusive relationship or one turned bad, but they are never lost. They remain as seeds beneath the snow.

Edith sang the song first on Nov. 10, 1960...49 years ago tomorrow...and it remains an anthem for anyone who ever has, or hopes to be, in love. Do yourself a favor...even if you don't speak French...YouTube or Google it...and listen. If you "feel" it...you're well on your way!

I think ppl hold back from what they really want to say to much because they are afraid the other person does not deserve to hear the words or the tone of voice that goes with them. Well "deserving got nothing to do with it!"

I used to be afraid and regret not speaking some words that may have needed to be said. Would get so nervous, laughed instead of answering. Looking inside over the years, learned from the experiences and then have gotten braver. Maybe it's the age. At times, learning this new way of communicating...have overstated or said too much. It comes in time..you're thinking about it also so growth will come and balance on what to say and not say. I think:wink:
