Ok just venting. Parents tell me not to get a job because school is more important, so I don't. They told they will help me out when needed, well now I need a job because I will lose my cell phone. Now all the part time jobs an seasonal jobs are taken by other college kids. So now I will not be able to talk to many of my friends because they can only text... I understand my parents have done a lot for me. Just wish I would have known his before hand so I could have gotten a part time job.

Maybe you can work out a deal with your parents to keep your phone for now but you will pay them back as soon as you get a job. Most of us parents are reasonable if we feel our college kids are making an effort to be responsible. Make a little more effort to help at home without being asked and we cave! Good luck!

Good preparation and teaching,you cant have lifes little luxurys without busting a little tail.You dont need a cell to text and chat,and if your car breaks down you can always huff it to those ancient booths of phone..but you do need the neccessities of hardship and uncomfort to be better adjusted to when things get actually rough.
I applaud them,school is more important now because helps for a better future for some (perhaps),they do it because they give a...well u know |

not sure where you live but i got my daughter a phone thru metro pcs. $45 bucks a month unlimited everything! hell you can hustle that somehow, day labor swinging a hammer or whatever. just go get it!
