The following is the full text of a conversation I just had
...what do you think?

Sun 06/03/07 10:59 AM
Subject: x
Body: You look like the type

Sun 06/03/07 11:12 AM
Subject: Re: x
Body: LOL and what type would THAT

Sun 06/03/07 12:14 PM
Subject: Re(2): x
Body: The type that "dates" Blacks-of course

Sun 06/03/07 03:23 PM
Subject: Re(3): x
Body: Well, I don't know what the criteria for that "type" are but I
have dated and been married to white men as well. I am just more
physically attracted to black, dominican, puerta rican coloring.
Just like some men prefer blondes or tall women or women with large
breasts-you are attracted to what you are attracted to.
You sound like you have a touch of racism!

Sun 06/03/07 03:33 PM
Subject: Re(4): x
Body: No,unlike you,I simply have pride-and dont need to date Blacks to
get people to stare at me when out in public

Sun 06/03/07 03:39 PM
Subject: Re(5): x
Body: LOL Pride? Pride has nothing to do with it. Obviously, you are a
bigot but that goes along with being small-minded.

I don't have to have a man with me, black or white, for people to stare
at me- I am a beautiful, intelligent, successful woman. I get stared at
by men of all races and all walks of life everyday.

You have issues. It is people that think like you that are destroying
our country.

Consider yourself blocked

WTH? Just by a photo they came to this conclusion. If that's the
case....god only knows what they think of mine (she probably only dates
men that they shoot out of cannons at the circus). OMG, how can people
be so judgemental over a picture.

I have a word for someone like that! ...and it's not the one you're
using

Maybe that person is jealous? I get that way if a girl I'm interested in
like people of other colors. Its like "wtf, so the only thing wrong
with me is something I can't control!?"

jade65's photo
Sun 06/03/07 04:09 PM
Or maybe he's just jealous!
Or an other-than-white-man stole his woman.

Why are people still like this in 2007 ?????
How many millions of people have been murdered because another
human-being is not intelligent enough to be able to live in a world of
people that do not look like him, talk like him or worship like him?

The fact that someone is different than you does not make them less
human. Their color, language and religion have no impact on your life!

Heeey, dun attack the messenger here. I ain't killed people, I dun go
out and call races names either. I know racism sucks, but for some
reason its inside me and I dunno what to do about it, just like my other
demons.

Its almost impossible to meet someone that has not dated someone of a
different race, anyone who has not is at a disadvantage.

I wasn't attacking you cloudy.I was talking about mr. wonderful that
sent me those messages.
At least you are smart enough to know its wrong and you want to fix
it!!!
I had racist parents and you tend to think like your parents.

I have been all over the world.....and at the deepest levels, we are all
the same. We all want to be happy!

damnitscloudy's photo
Sun 06/03/07 04:17 PM
Oh ok, sorry! lol

I dunno how to even go about fixing it, besides admitting it and maybe
catching heat. ohwell

CATBW56's photo
Sun 06/03/07 04:22 PM
that's a start damnitscloudy, just admitting it, from there you can work
on it.

jade65's photo
Sun 06/03/07 04:22 PM
With something like that, I think you just have to admit it and make an
effort EVERYDAY to get over it.
I find that people that haven't traveled much or live in communities
that are predominantly one race have a goldfish mentality. Its almost
like they don't get it.....the world is much bigger than your own bowl.
Unfortunately, the media does not help. They seldom sensationalize
anything but the negative. Consequently, if we see someone from another
culture in the media, it is always disparaging.

move somewhere that's a bit more diverse, allen...and place yourself
around people that are different than you. you'll learn bunches, and
maybe grow some...and you just might make a friend connection that can
give you a lead out of this.

sit down and write all the reasons you feel the way you do...and then
write why it's all hogwash. put each in writing...and work through it
logically.

So right lulu!

Cloudy, what is your favorite food? Chinese, Mexican, Cuban??

Whatever it is, you would'nt have ever had it without those people that
are "different" than you

damnitscloudy's photo

I like American food to be honest, anything deep fried and hamburgers
and pizza!

But I have had a black gf, and black guy friends before, but while I was
doing research for my family tree i came across a side of the family
that was black. I almost had a mental break down because in my mind, it
ment either camp, black or white would never accept me because I wasn't
100% pure bred. And the only reason I went on the family tree site was
to see if I was part Indian, because of my red skin tones. And I was
talking to my friend Tracy (who dates black people) and she told me that
I could be a racist because of my shock at it. I'm still embarrassed to
talk to her now, but she tells me everything is ok, that I'm a kind
person. Its like a war inside me mind.

Just the fact that you are not happy with your own reaction to your
family tree shows that you have good intentions...don't be so hard on
yourself. It sounds to me like you are in a process. I wish you the best
on your journey, I cannot tell you how rich my life is because of my
exposure to so many different people other than my own "white" Italian
culture.
You get points just for being honest cloudy!

Sun 06/03/07 04:44 PM
why do people live their life being a color?frown

jade65's photo
Sun 06/03/07 04:49 PM
Well Barbie, I myself do not but unfortunately there are those that
still continue to want to divide all of us. For whatever reason they
have chosen "color" as the separation factor. I suppose it could have
been eye color or height. They could have just as easily decided we
should all hate our neighbor because he was taller than 5'9"......
