I don't even like seeing strays and I would bring them all home if I could. I'm very sorry to hear about that happening.flowerforyou Hurting something or someone that can't defend themselves or not an equal match just tells me there is something wrong with that person's head and is VERY cowardly. It's sick IMO

i'd report him.

cruelty to animals is a felony here.

*sighs*...and i'm so sorry; my cats were family. i left my last relationship because his son killed my cat when he was pissed at me.
i just dont get it....
why a defenseless ,trusting, loving animal...how could anybody do that...

my species disappoints me
i don't get it, either.

heck, i can't even eat them.

all I can suggest is report him to your local animal shelter, animal rights activists, and possibly police station. Hang onto the bottle of poison as evidence, and give it to whomever you report this to. If you buried the cat in the back yard, I would suggest concidering the possibility of taking the body back to the vet and seeing if he can do blood work to prove the poisoning.

I am soooo sorry...I would be devastated if I lost my cat and to have it happen in such a way is heinous. There is not much you can do, really....
Pursue legal action...may be mute.
Try to forgive and keep the happy thoughts of the cat, just as we would do when one we love dies. flowerforyou

it's actually the 1st sign of being a sociopath. animals are usually the 1st step, then they move up to young childeren

Rock on!!

Get him out now! Your local laws may need to have him evicted. I would seriously consider it, and get him out. Otherwise, you can't be sure he won't poison the next pet, if you get one.

I don't know if it's justifiable, but if somebody that was living with me poisoned my cat, I would track where they live and pay people to give them random beatings until I was satisfied.

In your case, you should file a police report.

cost me my cat and $588 in vet bills...
he left the direct tv on so i think im gonna order every expensive ppv fight or whatever..plus if he dont return the boxes they charge $450..like i said he left real quick after i said the cat was goin to the vet...i know he moved to his home town bout 200 miles away

I think I would contact the SPCA in his new hometown and tell them what you suspect. I assume you have already disposed of the cat but the Vet might have done some tests to support your theroy.

I would be tempted to put a remote microphone in where he lives and whatever he drives play the sound of a cat howling at weird hours of the day and night to mind freak him. Or get the scent from a female cat in heat and rub it on his porch or car. He would have every stray around howling at his door.

This man is very sick and is a criminal, it is a crime to kill someones pet. I am so sorry about your beloved cat.

Beware please!!! I would throw out any food left in the refrig. and do an assessment of the house. Do not eat anything that was left. Change all locks.

so i talked to the police this morning..
there's nothing they can do unless i dig my tut up and formaly ask the vet for a toxicology report and i cant afford it now . the bill was already close to $600 and it cleaned me out..and i just dont think i could bring myself to dig him up now....locks are changed now to...they said my accusations were just speculation without hard proof

brokenheart As unfair as it is, you just have to let it go. Grieve your lost kitty and forget about that worthless person. Miserable people attempt to make every one around them miserable too. Don't let him win that one as well.

homicide, no

ICU, yes

To heck with karma...I like this approach.

You all know what Buttercup means to me. If someone did this to her I'd find the strength of an Army beat the living he!! outta them!

Try talking to the SPCA. They may have a vet that will do it for free so that they can prosecute the guy.
The worst they could do is say no. Then at least you know you have tried everything.
I know if someone did that to my dog I would not rest until I had some sort of justice.
I am so sorry about your cat.

Not just the SPCA, but also local animals rights froups and activists. They might be willing to step forward to help withthe cost as well.
