You know, all this open-mindedness is starting to get a little stifling.
Yesterday, I was told I couldn't have my own view point, unless I was
the only one who believed in the view point. Today I'm told that I am
responsible for the beliefs of everyone who is a Christian. And I was
told recently, that if the world comes to an end, it's my fault. I
think some people here are so open-minded that their brains fell out.

" KerryO,

What is my position on gay marriage? Opps! I wasn't supposed to ask
that was I? Because the truth is, you have no idea. "

I read you so little these days, I wouldn't know for sure. But being a
Biblical inerrantist, your explanation will probably read like a
Microsoft EULA. I've heard it all before, where people like you play
coy until hemmed into a corner, and then will say something incredible
like "I think a gay man and a gay woman SHOULD get married to each
other. See, I'm FOR gay marriage."

Meanwhile, you count on people's short memories for your equivocations
and proclaim yourself soooo open-minded, and see, those Evil Atheists
attack me for NO reason, boo hoo! (Even when they don't.)

Like I said, give the drama a rest. You went after Red because that's
your modus operandi in these forums. I happen to think highly of Red's
and Abra's work, and it's a pleasure to give you a few quills in your
open-minded beezer for trying to pass your boorish theatrics off as
<cough> debate.

So go ahead, kick the toy box and sulk now-- I said something sarcastic
to you and now you have PROOF (PROOF, dammit!) about those icky atheists
busting up your open-minded prayer meetings.

Oh, BTW-- Romans 1:26-27:
(26) “For this reason, God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their
women exchanged natural relations for unnatural,” (27) “and the men
likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with
passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and
receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error.”

KerryO,

1) I didn't go after Red, I asked her why she is so angry. The
discussion was calm until she ran in ranting about how horrible
Christians are for not wanting to marry non-Christians.

2) I am against gay marriage and would never say I was for it. My
point was that you didn't even know that, did you? And how could you,
because I've never talked about my position on gay marriage here.

How would I get backed into a corner? By you guys? lol The "Repeat the
assertion until the other guy quits out of frustration" crowd? Yeah,
you guys are really good debaters. Logic, facts and reason are on my
side, all you have is numbers. Numbers don't make you right, it makes
you a mob of "open-minded" people who demand that I either have your
view on reality or I'm wrong. And not just wrong, but wrong, stupid,
violent and pure evil.

KerryO, you need to try harder. All you do is make snarky remarks, I
haven't seen any logic or facts posted by you. Anyone can say something
rude, do you have the intelligence to string two thoughts together and
make an arguement?

I think if you'll check, you'll see I used the word 'zealot', _not_
Christian.

Although the Religious Right gets all the press in this country, I count
among my friends many people in what I (and they) call the Religious
Left.

No, you characterized it that way, using wild exaggeration (also one of
your trademarks in these forums). There's a huge difference.

"2) I am against gay marriage and would never say I was for it. My
point was that you didn't even know that, did you? And how could you,
because I've never talked about my position on gay marriage here."

And my point is that you deceived people with your open-mindedness ploy,
using suggestive innuendo so you could wear the uniform while paying
only lip-service. That is, until, like I said, you get hemmed in and
can't stonewall anymore.

So if you want to carry the banner for open-mindedness while chastising
others, I suggest you remove the beam from your own eye first.

KerryO,

I asked you a question, I didn't try to make anyone think I supported
gay marriage. The point that you can't seem to grasp is that you
ASSUMED that I was against gay marriage, but you didn't KNOW. And you
still don't know my full position or why I hold that position. All you
want to know is that I oppose gay marriage, not any details, reasoning,
alternate solutions, etc. I'm a sinner, I'm not someone who believes in
legislating sin, so my full position on gay marriage reflects that. Not
that you would know, because it's easier for you to assume than actually
try to learn. I'm done talking to you, have a nice day.

Yes Spider be DONE (applauds)

There's no communication in this thread. It's basically a spiritual
barrier..unfortunately.

Interesting that 'no communication' only occurs when others do not agree
with your intrepretation of life.

The moment another points out the subtle game you call the game for
'debate'.

Please!

no no AB you got it wrong you love to debate laugh In fact, you go on
for trillion of post.

There's no communication at the very point when people insult others and
continue to insult. Not only is the information not sinking in the
animosity stirs up.

You can communicate in respect regardless if you agree or not. I have
atheist and agnostic friends. We don't throw rude religious terms at
eachother indifferent

OOOO! Look at me my friends are athiest and agnostic. See how fair I
am.

Of course I would never ever ever ever marry one.

EEEEEK!

Since when has voicing an opinion been an indication of wanting to
fight.

I voice my opinion. It sits there for you to read or not. How you
choose to respond to my opinion is on you and you alone.

At least I am honest in my opinions and do not spend time trying to tell
others that they are angry after reading a post. How brilliant you must
feel those of you that can see emotion upon a piece of electronic paper.
You speak "judge not" yet you work 'This is how you are'. Works not
words show your measure.

huh eh..Hey man I see nothing wrong with voicing your opinion. Be
honest, you and Spider go on for hours non-stop over non-sense.

Just perhaps you can show how much you know.

There's a saying:

"When a man tells you it's not about the money, but the principle of the
thing? It's about the money."

And I beg to differ with you about 'communication'-- it doesn't die with
a few perceived insults, it was never was conceived to begin with when
peoples' narcissism informs them to listen with their mouths.

Besides, a few clever insults only heighten the amusing perception that
what we "really" have here is a carnival dunk tank. :)

It is evident (from private emails, not posts) that my criticism of
other non-Christians was mistaken as criticism of Christians. Just for
the record - though I consider Red a friend, I agree with Spider's
assessment:

"[Many posts from Red are] derogatory to Christians. You aren't a
Christian, okay, I'm fine with that. You can't respect our decisions to
only marry people of our own faith? Why? You are one of the
"open-minded" crowd of people, but you aren't quite open minded enough
to respect someones decision about who they would marry? How much more
personal can a decision get than choosing your spouse?"
---------------------------------------
I think a few people around here have axes to grind, and take their
grudges into every conversation they can. By doing so, they argue for
or against particular people or beliefs, rather than being on the side
of reason or truth. Sometimes your friends are wrong, and your
antagonist is right.

Kerry, you may already know this, but to be clear: on the bottom of page
6 I was spring-boarding off Spider's post to make my own similar point,
but I was not speaking about you personally.
