hey jsh family i have another problem going on. Who would have guessed.
I'm trying to get to college for a career that i think i'll enjoy and
have fun doing the problem with that is I work for a job that pays less
than min. wage and tips that aren't so good. I want to become a
counselor and help people and i've tried selling my time to help people
but people think i'm just a scam. I'm was just asking for 5 dollars for
an our and 8 for 10 for three which isn't much compared to the 90 an
hour you can get charged for but its all just to help me out with
college. i guess i need help on how i could earn extra cash to save up
to make it for college by feb. i've cut down to eatting once a day. i've
quit smoking and stop paying for a cab and started walking can anyone
help me?

that is a toughy... I am not in the same situation but I have come out
of a divorce and I didn't even take 1/3 of what I was entitled to so I
kind of understand where you are coming from. Is there anything you can
sell? Apply for financial aid at the college you want to attend? There
are student loans and also you can get scholarships. I'll let you know
if I think of some more.

Are your parents still claiming you as a dependent on their taxes?
Technically at 18 you are an adult, regardless of where you live, etc...
you should be able to receive financial aid.

not of this year this is the first year i'm able to claim my self
because last year it was too late to claim me and this year i'm allowed
to but aid is said to be for people who have help at all and that i
don't qualified is what they say.

then you are talking to the wrong ppl... if you are not on your parents
insurance, they aren't claiming you, etc... then you should be able to
have financial aid regardless of if you are living with them or not. I
talked to my best friend - she is a manager at McDonald's she said that
some McDonald's will pay for your schooling and your books. McDonalds
is a great place to work... she was able to make it to manager. They
have wonderful benefits too.

he's right about financial aid...they DO count your parents' income, as
it's seen that as their child, they should pay for your education.

HOWEVER...there's a chance that you might be able to get it anyhow, if
you can prove that your parents aren't willing to do a thing. depends
on circumstance, but it's a long shot.

you SHOULD still be able to get loans and such, though...they are
usually available to everyone.

you can also apply for an educational load directly from the banks.
i've known several people who weren't eligible that were able to get
them this way.
