"Have You Hugged Your Kids Today"

have you hugged your kids today
was a message I used to hear
divorce, separation, material things
have made the slogan disappear

all she wanted was a little attention
from the one that mattered most
you gave her money, and a computer
while ending up with a ghost

access to the internet world
finally found her a true friend
one who spoke of love and trust
and promises with no end

everyday after school
she rushed home to her screen
hoping and praying for a message
from a friend never seen

soon they both decided
the time had come to meet
arrangements were made
under the coroner's sheet

while reading this
you're shaking your head, "no way"
but my only question to you is
have you hugged your kids today?.....

the world is a sick place, and no matter how much we think we are doing to protect our children, it is never enough, and yet sometimes a hug and some quality time is all that's necessary. Love a child, especially if it's your own...Peace
