NO, I do not trust the owners if they are not experienced dog owners and know how to treat their animals correctly.

yes I do, because I never know which pit is raised by a bad owner.

Absolutely not. They are like all animals. Every creature will get violent when they feel threatened. That doesn't make them evil or mean dogs just because they are a pitbull. It has to do with how they are treated.

Why would anybody want to own a German Shepard? They are no different. Its not about the type of dog. Its about who owns the dog

EXACTLY!! But when you see an owner walk his or her pitbull, you don't know if the owner was raised responsibly, or if he or she came from a bad breeder or what.

You can only trust the dog as far as you can trust the owner, and all owners are big liars and cheats, for the simple reason that they are human.

If they are not cheaters and liars, you still are not out of the water, because it's impossible to tell the cheaters and liars from the honest ones.

Once this can be told apart, once psychological science gives us this tool to be able to discern between an honest man / woman and a dishonest one, I'll start to trust pitbulls, German sheppertds, cobra snakes, crocodiles and intercontinental ballistic missiles with foot odor.

Okay, so dogs don't kill people. People kill people. Same argument with guns....the only difference is that my .45 won't jump the fence on it's own accord and eat the neighbors children.

neither will a dog. it has to be provoked somehow.

Wrong....it happens all the time....just the sound of children playing attracts them like a shark.

Then again, I suppose there are many people that will say that sharks have to be provoked too.

ABSOLUTELY!!!

My neighbour provoked my other neighbour's Smiss and Wesson colt, and the colt jumped the fence, and let an entire round into my first neighbour's inflatable swimming pool.

C'mon, guy, be reasonable. Guns don't have a will independent of their owner. Dogs do. A gun can't be scared. A dog will get scared or startled and become a killing machine without its owner's support or command over any reasonably scary thing that scares dogs, but for people it's entirely okay, like a five-year-old pedalling a tricycle toward dat pit bull.
