BREAKING NEWS
WNBC-TV
Updated: 3:07 p.m. ET June 2, 2007

NEW YORK - Three men were arrested and one was being sought in
connection to a plan to set off explosives in a fuel line that feeds
John F. Kennedy International Airport and runs through residential
neighborhoods, according to an indictment released Saturday.

U.S. Attorney Roslynn R. Mauskopf called it “one of the most chilling
plots imaginable.”

“The devastation that would be caused had this plot succeeded is just
unthinkable,” she said at a news conference.
Authorities arrested Russell Defreitas, a U.S. citizen native to Guyana
and former JFK employee. He was in custody in Brooklyn and was expected
to be arraigned Saturday afternoon.

Two other men, Abdul Kadir of Guyana and Kareem Ibrahim of Trinidad, are
in custody in Trinidad. A fourth man, Abdel Nur, of Guyana, was still
being sought.

All four men have been charged with conspiring to attack the airport,
one of the nation’s busiest, by blowing up major fuel supply tanks and
the pipeline, according to the indictment. The plot involved a pipeline
that takes fuel from a facility in Linden, N.J., to the airport,
according to WNBC-TV NewsChannel4’s Jonathan Dienst, who first reported
the story.

Kadir, a former member of Parliament in Guyana, was arrested in Trinidad
for attempting to secure money for “terrorist operations,” according to
a Guyanese police commander who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Kadir, a Muslim, left his position in Parliament last year. Muslims make
up about 9 percent of the former Dutch and British colony’s 770,000
population, mostly from the Sunni sect.

The plot never got past the planning stages. It posed no threat to air
safety or the public, the FBI said Saturday.
“This was the ultimate hand-and-glove operation between NYPD and FBI,”
said U.S. Rep. Peter King, a Republican from Long Island.

The arrests mark the latest in a series of alleged homegrown terrorism
plots targeting high-profile American landmarks.

Didnt this happen a little while ago, where the story went around there
was a terrorist attack, when in reality it was the US govt trying to
keep itself in power?

Oh yeah, I remember it happened on September 9th!

Well, so far, it looks like so much sensationalism, set in motion for
the sole purpose of 'selling' news.

Zap ... as you may have gathered, I dont take much in the news very
seriously, unless I have first hand experience.

When 9/11 was actually occurring, I was in an area of London that was a
mjaor terrorist target by the IRA. I guessed then that it was not
fundamental terrorists, but in fact an attempt by a failing US leader to
sway public opinion toward him.

Nothing galvanises the US public like an attack against them.

It worked. You all applauded Rudy Guiliani for his sterling support
work, even though New Yorkers before that wanted him hung by his small
intestines for inaction towards lots of issues.
You all got behind your despotic ignorant (not stupid, I hasten to add)
leader and covered his butt.

Since then, I believe that there is more than coincidences occuring
here.

Call me a conspiracy theorist ... go ahead ... I dont mind ....

[taps foot waiting .... carries on regardless]

But regardless, I actually dont go in for US bashing specifically.

If you read my threads and posts, Im quite happy bashing all governments
for their war crimes, human rights atrocities and all of their
perfidious behaviour.

I just get so frustrated that the dis-information is being swallowed
hook, line and sinker on a regular basis.

I hate my govt for its lies and manipulations just as much as I despair
of most European govts.

The only one I have any time for is the Swiss govt. But they have
closed their eyes to war crimes as well, so they can all rot in hell as
far as Im concerned.

A line from "V from Vendetta" "The people should not be afraid of its
govt, the govt should be afraid of its people"
