I am searching the internet looking for confirmed cases in the school district, I am told many kids are being kept home to prevent them getting sick.

they were giving free swine flu vaccines to the kids at my school .. after some research i said hell no... CDC pushes alot of vaccines that arent considered safe enough by the W.H.O. to give to kids or even adults on mass scale... like the hepatitus one that theyre givin to kids at birth... our autism rate has skyrocketed since we started that...

They are not testing for the swine flu anymore, they haven't been in quite a while. Only for very serious cases. CBS did an investigation on it not long ago. It's on their website.

My son is allergic to eggs, will never get a flu shot.

How is it his fault? You can walk out of the house and get a job just like anyone else. Give me a break and quit trying to blame someone else. Look in the mirror.

You just need to get a good OINKment. (don't get the shots---too much mercury in them. Also, the insert says not to give to anyone under the age of 18.)

I think that we as parents, even a society, have to look hard at some of the things we are doing by having our children in mega schools; even at the lower grade levels. We need to recognize they are exposed to illness, lunatics, natural disasters, and other threats in public schools this large. We can not afford the loss of even one child much less a whole community of children. That public schools (and colleges) can prohibit parents, grandparents, media, and advocates from telling what is going on in these campuses, some even having their own police forces to "investigate" serious crimes it is no wonder a lot is going untold.

I really have a hard time understanding how children have to be exposed to so many kids and adults with so little screening of either. It is a disaster waiting to happen.

Think about it; pick any given time of the school day can you tell who is around your child? Even if they are in class do you know the teacher or the kids in class, or the people handleing their food? Could you even find that classroom? In all honesty I have to admit I couldn't until my child was the victim of a classroom. What is even more frightening is even if I asked the teacher does not have to tell me who is in the room or where they live.

My kids elementary school was a 20 min. drive from Columbine High school, yes we lived there at the time. My kid's principle was always front and center every time I went to that school for what ever reason. The district wanted him to cancel a Spring event at the school, he refused and paid out his school's money to provide off duty cops for security. He even brought his wife and 2 infant sons to the event. Warren Blair, You rock!

This is from the CDC website, and this is just normal seasonal flu. So whats the big deal on swine flu? Just a name of another strand.

http://www.cdc.gov/flu/keyfacts.htm

Key Facts About Seasonal Influenza (Flu)
What is Influenza (Also Called Flu)?

The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. The best way to prevent seasonal flu is by getting a seasonal flu vaccination each year.

Every year in the United States, on average:

* 5% to 20% of the population gets the flu;
* more than 200,000 people are hospitalized from flu-related complications; and
* about 36,000 people die from flu-related causes.

Some people, such as older people, young children, pregnant women and people with certain health conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease), are at increased risk for serious complications from seasonal flu illness.
