Because they want too ..that's all

I used to talk to a guy who lied about being 25 and gorgeous and single, turns out he was 50, married and more than likely uglier than hell. The kind of lies you're listing here are common lies people tell to "trick" you into liking them. They know they'd be rejected if they're honest, so they lie. In the future, get to know them before you get invested emotionally, that way it won't hurt as much when you find out they lied to you.

I don't think that is always true. I think some people just lie to entertain themselves. They like the attention it gets. They also like the power it gives them to manipulate others if only until the lie is discovered. Some people lie because there is something about their thinking process that does not mature past the "magical thinking" stage. They actually don't get what is falling out of their mouth is just fantasy. Because what they are saying is endearing at the time people fall into the fantasy right along with them.

When it comes to what someone tells me on line I take it with a grain of salt until I see it with my own eyes. Verify verfy verify...lol.

It's the internet, you will get them all over. You just have to weed out the bad. Good Luck.

Then when you catch them they have the nerve to say WTF!!

You learn , through trial and error to weed through the lies!

People lie because they are afraid

I honestly think that there isn't one person on earth who does not lie sometimes and this is from my experiences with both men and women .

they are unfomfortable with themselves?

are ashamed of themselves?

want to make them look and sound better?
