In My Craw


just sticks in my craw
won't let go
try to ignore it
just bothers me so
a grain of insistence
with sharp jagged edges
cutting my senses
can't figure where it wedges.
those tiny little things
find the softest spots
digs right in there
won't let you off
until you acknowledge
yes, something's not right
it sticks its persistence
in the middle of your night.
so you look and you feel
it moves around places
just that miniscule shard
leaving cuts and traces
Oh, yeh! in the craw
It needs to let go
I need to get past
be it friend or be foe.
