I have wrote this after reading some blogs about how disenchanted some people are over Barrack Obama. I Live in England and believe me, at this moment if you asked anyone on the street what political figures they liked you would get one resounding answer 'none as they are all corrupt'. We are and have been in the middle of a massive expensive scandal which has seen our politicians claiming for things from a bath plug to porn films to thousands of pounds for their 2nd homes. Now at a time when during a recession families are being evicted from their only home we have found this outrageous. With record low turnouts for elections i always find myself asking the same questions, 'how do these people keep getting into power'? To be a senior politician in this country you have to of been a member of some boys club or have gone to oxford or cambridge universities. Our country at the moment is being run by people who are inept and who have no clue what they are doing. They dont listen to what the people want and they have burdened this country with a massive debt that will still be being payed long after i pop my clogs.
I watched Obama when he gave some speeches and i will say he is a brilliant orator, if that means he will make a good president, only time will tell. I will say one thing about him though, love him or hate him, at least he has got people interested in politics again, especially after Bush.

Hitler made great speeches too and almost took over all of europe in 4 years. The way Obama is going, he's gonna bury this country in debt and ruin healthcare even more in less than 4 years.

No obama hasn't murdered anyone but your point is he's a good speaker just like hitler was. Some people look and listen to great orators with blind eyes and deaf ears and don't realize what they have missed until it's too late.

I watched his speeches and saw him speak in person. My investigating didn't end there. I studied the issues and his stance on them. I studied McCain's too. I have no regrets for having voted for Obama.

Good Winx, I'm glad you did your research. I'm sincere in that. I have heard some people that voted for obama have no clue about this issues. My post though said some not all. I too have no regrets voting against obama.

My parents did research too. My Dad's an Independent that voted for Obama. I know Republicans that researched and voted for him.

Hopefully more people will do research in the future. I like to see educated voters.

Funny because I know some democrats that also did their research and could not stomach voting for obama. I didn't vote for McCain/Palin because they are republican, I voted against obama for his beliefs and his ways as did others.

There are all on all sides of the spectrum that voted against party lines, that is never just limited to one party.

Just like some people who voted against Obama did so just to vote against him. It happens all the time. Unfortunately, there are many people out there who don't research and learn about the issues.

True and I voted against his politics. What drives me nuts is an ignorant voter from any political party, know who you're voting for don't vote blindly. Although we all disagree immensely in politics it's good to know that a lot have done their research.
