"an issue"?? puhleaze, you are awesome just the way you are, and weather or not you have hair does not make or break who you are!

If you feel comfortable with it I would not let anybody say different. If I knew I would look good I would do it.

Go for it girl. Be comfy. Just don't forget a hat on sunny days. Sunburn on the scalp is bound to be more uncomfortable then the wig!
Seriously, who would have a problem with a girl in peach fuzz? I think the worst you are going to run into is a lot of curious glances. If you don't mind those, then it's no problem. |

You all know im bald...right? Well I do have the softest little peach fuzz...heehee. Well I wanna know how you feel about this. Its not always comfortable to wear a wig, and I sometimes just go out freestyle(bare)on the head. Do you think it should be an issue to anyone. It certainly isnt to me.... cause.... I am beautiful no matter what they say no words cant bring me down no. -Christina Aguilera Can I rub your peach Fuzz??? |

Gee Jeanie, Barbara Eden wore a wig, She looked great, and look at Dolly Parton, well not the best example.
If Cost is not an issue, and I think there is a fund for just this, Yes Human hair just the way your pic was would be just fine. Keep it shoulder length and simple, You have a beautiful face It's real hair and after you get it, it's your own real hair!! Steve |

Roberta-
I could say "ditto" to just about everyone here who has given you "props" about being both Strong and Beautiful, as they are Very True Statements. I also agree, in today's society women are so much more Liberal with their hair, and how they are wearing it... I'm betting this is the perfect time to feel the most comfortable about BEING Comfortable! Hell, Look at Melissa Etheridge! And she's One Hot Rocker! In September of 2005 I was diagnosed with what is called Alopecia Areata. In short the definition is "hair loss in small, round patches, usually on the Scalp, that may go away on their own, or may last for many years" http://www.aad.org/public/publications/pamphlets/common_alopecia.html My case was Stress induced. At one time I had 4 spots on my head, that ranged from Silver-Dollar sized to MUCH larger. Luckily, the largest of them all was very much Underneath the rest of my hair... toward the base of my scalp. When they started showing up in the Front, around my face, I really started to worry, as I normally pull my hair back in a single clip... I really considered shaving it all when it was apparent that this condition I was "gifted" with showed no signs of stopping. As soon as the hair started to grow back, and got to the Peach Fuzz Stage, and I had HOPE again... Another Bald spot seemed to appear. I am sharing all of this, because it is a subject that hits home for me. What I say to you is: I hope yours comes back Full force, as mine has, (YAY!!) and that maybe for you, it will all be "uniform" instead of with a mind of it's own! Enjoy all of those Shorter Hair-Do's that you have always admired, but could never quite see yourself having the nerve to pull off!! For now, Be PROUD of your FUZZ!! *Smile* You EARNED it Sister!!! |

In honor of your balditude, I will take the wig off of my mannequin when I am groping her tonight.

You could not possibly hide your beauty...with a wig...or a hat...or scarf. It shines from within.

Have a very dear friend who has been visably disabled most of her life so when we visited this evening I talked about what I had seen in this forum.
Her comment to me was that she had a friend who had a similiar episode and after having hard feelings about what seemed like an insentive remark the speaker related not that she was bing mean but she was afraid maybe her guests would be jerks and as the hostess she wouldn't be around constantly to fend off obnoxious questions that might not let her enjoy the party otherwise. So sometimes things said may be in a whole different perspective. Not that we always want to be protected it sometimes is coming from a good place. |

Do what You want to do. What really makes 'you' comfortable. I had a double masct, 2nd breast this year. I didn't wear a bra because it was very uncomfortable. Happens sometimes. After the second, just go braless and wear what I want, comfort first. For me because I am me and will always be with me. Realized people think of us maybe 10 seconds and then the brain is off and running. Being who you are, shows strength and courage. This should be easy for you.
We all go around covering up- and I'm (you're) here to make a statement. This could happen to you. If it hurts you, how do you think I feel? Not in the antagonistic way it sounds, not self pity, but a door to awakening. And your freedom from it. Trust me, you'll feel more like you when you relax after a while of going wig free and people will be relaxed around you. We're all here to enlighten one another. |

You have somehow captured my heart here in a paragraph. Amazing. |

In retrospect, I was being alittle too sensitive. Love you sista. |

I never understand why im amazed at the responses, and amount of responses, that I recieve here at Mingle.
You are incredible people, that I have found here. You are always here for me when I need you, and say exactly what I need to hear, at just the right time. You ARE my support group, friends, and family... and I couldnt imagine my life without you. I love you all sooooo much. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. |

I could massage and kiss your head all night and all life long....
It's what is inside, not on top. You are beautiful to me.,.....I wish you had a photo without anything adorning your head. I like phrenology and would love to feel you soft, warm cranium. Love has no boundaries. It to me would not matter if you were an amputee or have been in a disfiguring accident. God humb;ee's all and makes us stronger people for it. Kisses all over your head...... As strong as your character is, I wonder why you ask this question.
It just proves you are as normal as the rest of us. People's opinions do matter to everyone, wether they admit it or not. You will be just fine, however you look. Show yourself with pride & help all others that have the same worry. An old redneck's opinion. |
