Awwwww ... HUGE congrats ... flowers

... Sounds possibly a bit emotionally tricky for you, perhaps them as well ... For now at least ...

Hope that the journey not be an ordeal, but a great blessing that can be taken in stride and goes well for EACH of you!

I simultaneously empathize w/ your trepidation and vulnerability, this is huge! Fear is normal ...

Still, few of us were planned, nature wants babies ... they'll muddle through too, and fall in love w/ that lil surprise!

Yanno you are sure to fall in love also, BIGTIME ...

WOW!!! ... drinker ...

 How long have they been together and are they going to get married?

They have not been together very long..less than a year. I have never met
her, talked to her on the phone..seems nice, I need to meet her in person then I can feel her vibe. No talk of marriage as of right now, but they just found out.
This girl is 4 years older than him..hopefully more mature. And she is black and we all know that those mixed babies sure are beautiful...

What state do they live in?

My 26 year old son calls me and tells me his girl friend

is pregnant.... I'm scared to death!!

I raised my boys alone and still have 2 here at home. I

don't want to take care of little ones just yet....

I want a break!

Feeling a bit guilty that I'm not more excited.

He's 26...an adult! Why are you worried?

I understand how you are feeling. I have 5 children...3 with first marriage and then 2 with second. My son and his girlfriend had a baby in August after completing their senior year. Your son is old enough to be responsible and step up to the plate and make sure he is supporting his family.

When my grand daughter was born, I was 43 and had an 8 & 9 year old still at home! It is tough. Currently, my oldest is 38 and my youngest is 21. I have been a mom forever! I love being a mom, but when the grandkids are close to the ages of your own, it is harder to be a grammie while still be a mommy! But it works out. She is 13 now and a beautiful girl. There is something wonderful about seeing and holding the child of your child. When they had their second, I was in the delivery room with them! That is amazing!!!

You'll do fine because you are looking at the situation realistically. Shows that you care and are preparing yourself for it! Warm wishes.

don't be scared...but I am flowerforyou

So what are you scared of?

That they may move closer to you?

That they may need your help?

I feel for you, and yet know that no matter what...you'll survive, that somehow you will take it all in your stride, and be a wonderful mother, and grandmother to your boy, his girl, and their baby.

((Psst...remember how girls usually want their mum when they are pregnant? You could be reasonably safe in the 'living with you' thing...))

yeah Jess..I'm afraid of all of the above. You are right (of course) we
we all survive and there is plenty of love to go around...indeed.

My Grandmother always said that "Most babies take 9 months but the most loved babies are the surprises." Hopefully this will be your experience.

Being careful not to let your fear be known to your son and his Baby Momma may prevent years of resentment and hurt that could exclude you from your Grandchild's life.

I truely understand the fear you feel. Times are hard and babies are expensive. My guess is you have raised your son to be a responsible young man and if he has brought this information to you he will continue to communicate with you and together you all will overcome all the hurdles the family faces as a team. Good Luck.

Take a deep breath and enjoy the moment. CONGRATULATIONS!

Hahaha LL....you get to be a Granma!

You get to love em, and spoil em, and tickle em and kiss em, and then hand the little darlingheart back to the parents....

You get to be the spunky young Granma, the EarthMother Goddess type Granma, the Granny Clampett Granma....the Mrs Santa Claus Granma....

How cool is that?

Like playing dressups!

and your boys become Uncles! Watch them step up to the plate also....

WoW ! what a wonderful journey your whole family is embarking on!

My son and I are very close..he always calls at least twice a week. He is just coming out of some hard times..I worry he isn't ready..but were any of us I guess. I suppose I wasn't really ready for him at 23...
There is no lack of love..and they both know that. I don't know the momma baby yet..I'm sure my boy has filled her in. He has me as his hero on his myspace.
