Love , to me , is the strong desire to see someone else have the best. I only say it to those I really feel that desire for. Its very difficult now because people do throw it around and I tend to think they mean it as I would and end up disappointed when they apparently are thinking of it as some kind of punctuation for their sentence.

what does love mean to you. do u use it like u would use the word thanx or do u really mean it? Love is the double-edged sword, nothing more than the brain throwing odd chemicals through your body. I meant it, she did too...what went wrong? Initially my mistake then her reluctance, eventually one of us had to give up and I decided it would be me. For something that has a mystical aura of good around it...it sure is one of the most terrible feelings to lose, I opt not to have it again. I'm safer this way, my mentality won't ever be the same and I don't want to risk changing that again. So now I'm a nihilist, fitting, I think. Hate the world that bred the hate to begin with. |

In all the different types of relationships, That I have enter into. There is one thing I missed. That when you really love someone. You think of them before you do yourself. We men have a one tracked minded!

We tend to look at most things filtered through our own experiences...I'm sure some throw the word "love" around more than me...some less. That doesn't mean they mean it less...or more. It just doesn't match our usage...and we tend to make a value judgment based on that. Next time you catch yourself about to say "Why does he say that so much...he couldn't mean it?" or "Why can't she say she loves me, like I do?"...remember, it's just a different frame of reference...no more valid or invalid than yours. And smile, because anyone using the word "love" can't be all bad!

I think Heinlein said it best. "Love is that condition where another's happiness is essential to your own."
For me, Love isn't just about romance between two individuals. There are a lot of people that I love. If I tell my friends that I love them, it doesn't devalue the word, when I also use it with my (currently non-existent) mate. If I tell me (currently non-existent) mate that I love him 3,000 time, my love for him is not less then if I had said it only once. |

It is what it is. Love you! That's about the best answer I've seen so far. |
