Love doesn't really exist, I think it is primarily a 'trigger mechanism' for lack of better words. Moreso just an action to an unknown event, a feeling never felt, of course, this must be love! Though rarely is that the case, more often than not it is merely lust or a selfish motivation. Essentially all relationships start with a selfish outlook and a conceited motivation, we don't merely get into a relationship most of the time because we want one but usually because society as a whole pushes us in that direction.

I love the argument that a relationship is necessary for survival or that in some way, shape, or form I am supposed to have a significant other. Sorry, but I fail to see the necessity.

I didn't imply it was a necessity did I?
If so, my bad, didn't mean it like that.

So, to you it's just a word? A label for an unexplainable event that takes place?

But the thing is; you can love something that isn't just another person or individual. Ppl keep making the arguement about relationships and love, but love runs deeper than that.

I've been single for 4 yrs (not proud of it) but true none-the-less. Society doesn't force me to do anything, that's called the will to resist or the lack of will to submit.

You can call it Blubberfat, but it won't change the meaning.
Granted, it's often misused, misworded, mistaken, but it is still there. Maybe you just haven't felt the true, undeniable power of it yet?

It's always found to be misconcieved, because it's an overused word. Loving someone or something may very well always hold a different meaning or purpose between every individual, but that doesn't mean there is absolutely no such thing.

When you find that one thing precious to you, that you can't picture living without..
..can I be there to tell you, 'I toldja so?'

Define it as you want, your choice.. and I won't try anymore to defend a simple word.

Just picture love like God.
You can't force someone to believe in the higher powers that may or may not be..
But to those that do believe..
It is a very strong binding feeling.
An untainted, undaunted, unphased and extremely pure faith in somethng greater than ourselves..

The same could be said about love...

No you didn't, I was just bringing up an unrelated point as usually I get the argument that 'I have to have love!'. I don't feel love exists outside of a family mentality, we love our children, mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, so on and so forth. I don't think within the grasp of the human mind there is enough space left over for a third party, love requires complete and honest loyalty to one person...I don't feel people have that capacity anymore, and even years ago it was fading and fading quick.

I found love, had love for awhile...and lost it, by far one of the most terrible things I've ever experienced in my life. Yet, all the same, people chase it like it is the fountain of youth. Why? Don't know, don't care, no longer applies to me. I'm just explaining my thoughts and opinions on the matter at hand, and I'm of the opinion that love cannot exist anymore, not like it once did at least...and for those that have it, congrats, but don't think it is some kind of rich commodity because it isn't.

That is why love doesn't exist for me, I had it once before and lost it...more than likely, I will never have it again.

Don't ask me to picture love like God...they're one in the same and I believe in neither.

(((D))) you know I love you but only believe 1/2 of what you're saying here... I also think the point was that love was like God only in the way that you either believe it or don't so nothing wrong with picturing it that way b/c you don't believe it either... BUT I think one day you'll believe in love again...
