Salt and Light
Chapter 2/Section 1

Every community should be impacted for good, by the life and work of
the Believers therein. The child of the King, is to be about the King's business, in such a way as to manifest Kingdom of God influ-
ence that breaks down and replaces the world system way of being and
doing.

1 John 3:8 describes part of the job description of our Messiah in His earth walk. (AMP)..."The reason the Son of God was made manifest
(visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the
devil (has done).

The Believer is charged in John 14:12 to do what Messiah did and even
greater works. So part of the work of the ministry is to overthrow
the world's system and bring into manifestation the Kingdom of God
system.

The Message translation renders a very powerful insight on Matthew 5:
13-16 "Let me tell you why you are here. You're here to be salt-
seasoning thay brings out the God flavors of this earth. If you lose
your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You've lost your
usefulness and will end up in the garbage.
14-16 Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing
out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I
make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under
a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've
put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand--shine! Keep open house;
be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt
people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.

The New Covenant Believer is in the marketplace on assignment to
revolutionize the marketplace and bring divine influence to those in
darkness who are unseasoned by the Word of promise.

When a Christian carries only a message of salvation, they are only delivering a small piece of the Gospel.

The "full gospel" will touch and change for the good, every arena
of life and its development.

Messiah proclaimed, "I have come for the purpose of giving life, and
that those who receive my life, may have the abundance the God kind
of life produces. (GAJ)

If the church is only light within the walls of a local assembly. how
does the light pierce the darkness?

1 John 1:7 (NAS) but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in
the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of
Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

It is a walk, not an experience. He walked in the light of revelation of the Father's purpose.

2 Peter 1:19 (NAS) So we have the prophetic word made more sure,
to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a
dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in
your hearts.

The light of revelation is the unfolding of prophetic purpose in the
earth.

1 Peter 2:9 (NAS) But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royalb PRIESTHOOD,
A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may
proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of dark-
ness into His marvelous light;

The New Covenant Believer has a powerful role to play in the end time
revival and the replacing of the kingdom of darkness by the Kingdom
of Light.

Ephesians 5:8 (NAS) for you were formerly darkness, but now you
are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light.

We came out of darkness by the new birth, now we must cast off the
rule and reign of darkness and walk out His light before men. We must
establish Kingdom.

1 Thessalonians 5:5 (NAS) for you are all sons of light and sons
of day. We are not of night nor of darkness;

Sons of (the revealing of divine truth and power) Sons of God (repr-
esenting family business) Sons of His inheritance.

Matthew 5:16 (NAS) "Let your light shine before men in such a way
that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is
in heaven.

As New Covenant Believers we are to "do" the works and deeds of the
Father, which manifest the light of His purpose and calling and tran-
sform the earth.

Kingdom of Light, manifests Original Intent!

Most Christians will agree that there is much darkness in the world
system. Some will go furhter to say "gross darkness" covers the earth.

Into these arenas of darkness the Believer has been called to shine
forth the light of the gospel. They are also to radiate the outraying
of the indwelling of the Father's presence.

As representatives of the Kingdom of Light, they are to cause the light of the Father's presence, the light of the father's Word, the
light of the Father's ever present help, the light of the Father's
wisdom, grace and power be applied to everydaybsituations and problems.

A Believers light shines when they do good (God) works, that reveal the person, the nature and the purposes of God in the earth.

Those dwelling in darkness, the world system, need to see Kingdom rule in manifestation. Live out in example and everyday application,
that which you talk about, believe and preach.

Wherever you are, at work, at play, at school or about the complexities of life, let your light shine by the works you accomplish.

If you are the only Believer present, you are the spiritual authority
in that group or place.

You represent light, dispelling darkness and changing destinies. As His designated spiritual authority, you are there to reveal and display Him.

Church and church settings, are but one sphere into which the Believer is to exert influence, inspire change and manifest the
Kingdom of God.

Abrief look at the major sphere's open for invasion to the Believer,
will be discussed in Chapter Three.

The book of John in the New Testament is a good place to start. Most churches give Bibles out for free if you need one. I'd stay away from the King James Version as it is in Elizabethan style and very difficult to grasp unless you enjoy reading Shakespeare. There is a new King James Version that eliminates the thee's and thou's or try NIV.
