...I bought an old reel-to-reel tape recorder at a pawn shop (I collect tape recorders). The thing was petty old...from the 50's and needed some work to get it working again. The shop owner gave me a huge bag of old reel-to-reel tapes so I decided to listen to a few...and I never laughed so hard in my life. 30-40 year old recordings of people singing into their then brand-new tape recorders to see how they sounded. Some wound up becoming like some wierd drunken Karaoke experience from hell....God they're funny.

Yea...these were people that probably never heard their voices on tape before and assumed that they could actually sing. The ones doing country standards were the best...and the ones with little kids singing childrens songs. God...

I'm gonna' make copies of the funniest ones and give em' to friends....

It's kinda cool if ya think about it..ya know some of these people I'm sure are dead now and yet their voices carry on..would be cool to know who some are and pass these on to family members.

50 years from now people will be looking at blog transcripts and be seeing you

One of the funniest ones was a guy singin' "Please,please,please by James Brown ...

Another one was somebody testing the recorder...didn't say anything but you could hear the radio in the background playing an episode of "The Dark Shadow' series...
