Topic: A Hypothetical Question

President Obama won a Noble Peace Prize for doing nothing to bring about peace. Shouldn't President Kennedy have won one for his handling of The Cuban Missle Crisis? Shouldn't President Bush have won one for keeping The Country safe after 9/11? Please note this is not a partisan question. I mentioned a Democratic president and a Repubublican president. be seeing you

any one that deserves it should have been in the running at least.

well lets ee wht the president has to say regarding this see below:

This morning, Michelle and I awoke to some surprising and humbling news. At 6 a.m., we received word that I'd been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009.

To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who've been honored by this prize -- men and women who've inspired me and inspired the entire world through their courageous pursuit of peace.

But I also know that throughout history the Nobel Peace Prize has not just been used to honor specific achievement; it's also been used as a means to give momentum to a set of causes.

That is why I've said that I will accept this award as a call to action, a call for all nations and all peoples to confront the common challenges of the 21st century. These challenges won't all be met during my presidency, or even my lifetime. But I know these challenges can be met so long as it's recognized that they will not be met by one person or one nation alone.

This award -- and the call to action that comes with it -- does not belong simply to me or my administration; it belongs to all people around the world who have fought for justice and for peace. And most of all, it belongs to you, the men and women of America, who have dared to hope and have worked so hard to make our world a little better.

So today we humbly recommit to the important work that we've begun together. I'm grateful that you've stood with me thus far, and I'm honored to continue our vital work in the years to come.

Thank you,

President Barack Obama

BHO was only in office for 10 days. this was nothing more than an honorary award. no one can do anything good or bad in 10 days

I think that neither of them deserve it. JFK, was looking out for the U.S And Bush was protecting us from terrorist.

Those were for self interest as I see it. Maybe, I'm wrong for looking at it that way but I feel that it should be someone with a world interest
Like Ronald Reagan shoot it took Princess Diana 17yrs before she won it. And obama got it in 9 months??? Something is wrong.

The person who should have deserved, but never got one is Gandhi. You can claim whatever, but he managed to gain his country independence without any violence. His ways inspiried by many peace activists and use his method, he entire idea of non-violent civil protest is based on his ways.

Amazingly, never got a Nobel Peace Prize.

If the Nobel committee deems it necessary to honor Obama with the Nobel, it is up to them. They think alot of him obviously.

That is a good thing for this country.

I don't see how this committee could possibly know a person when only 10 days in office. this was a "push to do better" type award...not on his actions or merit

I'm going to start using copy and paste laugh
