Yeah, whats up with that?????

Might as well given it to me. I have contributed to world peace!!!!
You might not have heard about it, its not in the Media.
I mean, no peace accords, or treaties, or conferences that brought world leaders together. Or ..ah...um.....anything like that but...really I did contribute.

Good job for a guy who "hasn't done anything" since his presidency started. I wonder how his critics will spin this one.

I do too, even though I don't follow politics that much. Look what Bush has put us through. Give Obama a chance he came into a mess that he has to clean up.

He really hasn't done anything to deserve it. They are just trying to influence him.

See, if he wins the Nobel Peace Prize, how could he possibly live with himself if he does anything perceived as remotely militarily aggressive by the international community?

From what I have seen, it will probably work.

I think , going by its founders perceptions...

Alfred Nobel stipulated that the peace prize should go "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations and the abolition or reduction of standing armies and the formation and spreading of peace congresses."

and depending upon how often it is awarded,,,they have made an excellent choice. Obama definitely has spread a worldwide message of hope and diplomacy in his approach, his words, and his actions. I am very proud for him and his family.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how many naysayers will at least aknowledge the influence of hope he has had on the world.

strange that he was nominated for the prize only two weeks after taking office

not to begrudge the Nobel Peace Prize to Obama but he hasnt done anthing yet but give some speeches

I think there is more politics to this than Peace

EDIT: and on the blasting the moon thing. That was planned and the satellites manufactured about 5 years before he was elected. He doesnt really have much to do with it

Gee, I don't know, Professor Gore seemed pretty deserving.

Aye...

There were many more deserving and just as he had nothing to do with the moon project...

He had as much to do with world peace... At this point in history.

Wonder how they all will feel when Iran blows itself up?

I like President Obama. That being said, I can think of other people who were just as deserving, and probably more so. I was really rather surprised at the announcement. I think that talk is cheap. Anyone can talk the talk, but it takes time to prove you can walk it as well. While I believe he will probably be deserving some day, I am not sure that now is that "some day."

*Chuckles* Anything is possible with the Nobel Peace Prize because there was a prize awarded to dynamite when it was invented..and it's used to blow **** up and kill some innocent people everyday. Stranger things have happened. rofl rofl
