Sure, try this one : Triumph Forsaken: The Vietnam War, 1954-1965 (v. 1) (Hardcover)
by Mark Moyar

I'd probably grab a world encyclopedia type of book. Shrugs.

Following Cats comment on military, I did enjoy The Mammoth Book of Special Ops by Richard Larence. 40 short stories from "Nam to current of military actions.

Interested in the space-race between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R? Try this one: "Space Race: The Epic Battle Between America and the Soviet Union for Dominion of Space" (Paperback)
by Deborah Cadbury

Something a little more lighthearted but interesting just the same, pick up this classic : "I Am Spock" (Paperback)
by Leonard Nimoy

I really enjoyed this book. It was published in 1995. Most book stores have it.

If you want fiction and a really good read, try Tom Clancy's "Executive Orders" I couldn't put it down. Very good book and one of my favorite Clancy novels.
