I don't like either band, but I can tolerate the Beatles alot more than Kiss.

Kiss is like having that one drink to many....

I must say that as an aspiring self-taught musician, I cannot personally choose between two majorly contrasting acts.

I have heard far more of the beatles works, so therefore I would be biased to choose them over KISS in the outset, but I then need to listen to more KISS music to pass any sort of judgement.

I may like their stuff, I may not, but until I have listened I will reserve my overall comment on this one.

Plus I can understand there are so many manipulations that can be done even with the same chord pattern and structure, which is why a number of covers are successful (or even songs borrowing part of another song)

Tinchy Stryder's latest song that I've heard -> has taken something from Olive's You're Not Alone

Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby - took a simple bassline from Queen and David Bowie's Under Pressure

Then Covers - say it all. Different styled artists trying to reproduce a previous work of musical art is a let down to current mainstream pop/rock works, in as much as originality is slowly dwindling away. Come on people, creation!

How can you begin to compare them? Grandson just saw Kiss in concert in Cleveland and said it was awsome!!

Kiss... more like a costume party... I guess they may have been entertaining when they had their makeup and get up on... for some... but once the makeup came off... Ummmm...can you put that stuff back on please? Very theatrical... not much musical talent...but hey... I guess people will do anything to sell some albums... IMO

Kiss has and will continue to do anything to market the brand. They are shameless hucksters and self-promoters. They've done more with less than any other act in musical history. I'd rather listen to my dad farting all day long than Kiss.

Cheap Trick is actually a good band so it does not offend the senses the way Kiss might...

IMO anything the beetles did before 1967 sucked, everything Paul Stanley sings....sucks! And I think it sucks that KISS has two impostors dressed like Ace and Peter.
