Funny thing, although there are tons of local guys that fit some of my criteria, the ONLY and I mean the ONLY messages I get are from ppl that live far away from me. Go figure. Same here. There are hundreds of locals on the site, and none of them posts in the forums or responds to e-mails. But all of the people who are 897,000 miles away sure do like me. I don't understand this myself. Not even in the forums. You're right. Could it be fear? Well, I'm not sure because it's hard for me to fathom the logic of it. I get a lot of e-mails from people who say things like "My friend likes you but she's intimidated by your writing," which makes no sense to me. It's just words. I have only two things I'm good at. I wouldn't be intimidated by someone who was a good cook or who could build a box girder bridge or who could fly a helicopter. It's just stuff people can do, and some people do it better than others. I don't see why any of that should be a hindrance to people talking to each other. |
