I was told this the other night and I think a laugh is needed about now.....

My sisters-in-law's (two of my brothers are involved with sisters) mom was brought to the hospital last week because of her diabetes among other problems. After a few days, she hadn't "gone" and was feeling quite uncomfortable so she asked if they could give her something for the problem.

A nurse came in and said the doctor said to give her a suppository to help her have a movement. The nurse told her to roll on her side so she could insert it, so she did. As the nurse was doing what she had to do "Mom" was getting upset and asked her if she knew what she was doing and the nurse kept saying "Of course I do!!"

Then "Mom" yelled...."THEN GET THAT OUT OF MY VAGINA!!!"shocked shocked

As a nurse, I am truly sorry this happened, 'Always Listen To The Patient' !!!!!!

Chipotle` Grill used to have a billboard with just a picture of their giant foil wrapped burrito that said

"It's Big, Really Big"

I thought it looked like a giant suppository.laugh laugh laugh

Mich, I was thinking about you when I was told about this.... I wanted to ask...what do you think was on her mind to make such a mistake??

Once my Mom said who was in the hospital I knew something happened that would make me giggle. If anything ever goes wrong, this lady is usually the one it is happening too.laugh

Sticking something in someone else s orifices is not always 'fun', she probably just wanted to get it done with minimal fuss and embarrassment.
About as much fun as trying to find the right spot to put in a catheter, sometimes its difficult. But it sounds like, and seems like it should be easy.
I bet she NEVER makes that mistake again.

I'm sure she won't make that mistake again. "Mom" is not a quiet, timid lady. I am sure they heard her on other floors of the hospital.laugh laugh
