Confidence is good! If he was a conceited prick about everything you'd know by now.

Right!!!

Only tuats ought to be allowed to be conceited. Guys... they should be hanged, quartered and drawn. (Unless the date draws out, and it's quarter to midnight, and you suspect he's hung.)

(Was this rude? I have no social conscience. If someone would please let me know if I overstepped the limit of social decency. Thanks.)

It can be difficult to read things like inflection, sassiness, sarcasm and such in a single response online.
It's probably better not to judge anyone by juts one thing they ever said...online or otherwise! Give him a break on this one...if he's not "Mr. RIght" he'll make more wrong moves than one...and this really doesn't seem like a ghastly faux pau anyway.

I dont think the thing of concern here is that he said he looked good in a suit, I think the red flag was that after she paid him a compliment, he didnt say at least thank you. Selfishness perhapse may be what needs to be watched for. JMO

I am chatting to a really great guy. We chat, text, facebook and are even thinking about meeting in the future...What troubles me is that I told him I bet he looked good in a suit because he just got an office job...His response was, " Yeah, I do. I really look good in a suit." No thank you or modest answer... Should I be turned off by that or let it go?

Give it a chance, you never know he may be different in person. I would over look that little quirk. But if he is always like that then I would be turned off.

Yer kidding, right??

After all the threads about women wanting a confident guy...you are thinking of possibly holding confidence against him???

Come on...I think you can find a few other ways to find out if he's a narcissist.

Agreed again, however, next time, test him on it, and when you go out and he tells you that you look pretty tonight, you say,"I know! I do like fine, don't I?!" And see what he does.

Why would he have to say thank you? She didn't really compliment him, she kinda just half-asked if he did.

Confidence is sexy and it sounds like you hit it off as far as conversation. Here's hoping you do meet, have a wonderful time and determine for yourself if he does it for you in a suit.

all I can really say is to follow your instincts and a bit of caution is a good thing.

Frankly, honey, I don't see what should he thank you for??? That phrase sounds more like a question/confirmation than a compliment.

So, let it go - for now - but watch out for the other "red flags"!
