Grayson calls health care crisis 'holocaust'

Florida Rep. Alan Grayson, under fire for conservatives for describing the gist of their health care plans as "die quickly," is not exactly backing down from claims he's crossed a line of civility.

Just now on the floor, he called on members of the House to pass health care reform in the most extreme terms possible:

"I apologize to the dead and their families that we haven't voted sooner to end this holocaust in America," Grayson said.

Then proceeds to call republicans

"Unscrupulous, Foot-Dragging, Knuckle-Dragging, Neanderthals!"

Where is Nancy Pelosi with her crocodile tears condeming him on his words?

You hear him saying on Maddow's show that the republicans are blocking everything. How is that? the democrats have enough votes in the house and senate to pass whatever they want.

The Holocaust (from the Greek ὁλόκαυστον (holókauston): holos, "whole" and kaustos, "burnt"), also known as The Shoah (Hebrew: השואה, Latinized ha'shoah; Yiddish: חורבן, Latinized churben or hurban[1]) is the term generally used to describe the genocide of approximately six million European Jews during World War II, a program of systematic state-sponsored extermination by Nazi Germany, under Adolf Hitler, its allies, and collaborators.[2]

Some scholars maintain that the definition of the Holocaust should also include the Nazis' systematic murder of millions of people in other groups, including ethnic Poles, the Romani, Soviet civilians, Soviet prisoners of war, people with disabilities, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, and other political and religious opponents.[3] By this definition, the total number of Holocaust victims would be between 11 million and 17 million people.[4]

The persecution and genocide were carried out in stages. Legislation to remove the Jews from civil society was enacted years before the outbreak of World War II. Concentration camps were established in which inmates were used as slave labor until they died of exhaustion or disease. Where the Third Reich conquered new territory in eastern Europe, specialized units called Einsatzgruppen murdered Jews and political opponents in mass shootings. Jews and Romani were confined in overcrowded ghettos before being transported by freight train to extermination camps where, if they survived the journey, the majority of them were killed in gas chambers. Every arm of Nazi Germany's bureaucracy was involved in the logistics of the mass murder, turning the country into what one Holocaust scholar has called "a genocidal state".

Have you ever watched the drama that occurs on the floor of Congress? If we hold all them responsible it would get pretty busy in the prosecution department.

Now disrespecting the president during a public speech that is deplorable. Racist, I tell ya...lol

These people are our leaders, our elected officials. What kind of example does that show to people mostly the children, that it's ok to call people names! And you wonder why this country is going to hell in a hand basket! Maybe people need to learn RESPECT

Respect is esteem for, or a sense of the worth or excellence of, a person, a personal quality, ability, or a manifestation of a personal quality or ability. In certain ways, respect manifests itself as a kind of ethic or principle, such as in the commonly taught concept of "[having] respect for others" or the ethic of reciprocity.

Esteem for, or a sense of the worth, or excellence, of a person, a personal quality or ability, or something considered as a manifestation of a personal quality or ability, for example, "I have great respect for her judgment."

Deference to a right, privilege, privileged position, or someone or something considered to have certain rights or privileges; proper acceptance or courtesy; acknowledgment: respect for a suspect's right to counsel; to show respect for the flag; respect for the elderly.

Respect can also be shown by the absence of disrespect. Disrespect is usually shown by the presence of rudeness of one form or another.

The republicans are trying to control everything going into bill now...they want it there way. It's about time the Democratics step up and make a voice. Republican's don't want to push for good change..they want to sit and make excuses as to why the WAR and spending billions and trillions of dollars is worth more than helping the U.S. Citizens. The Bill of rights no longer holds passage in today's society. They could give a crap about anyone supporting them. I don't blame him for calling the Republicans all those names. They deserve it.

Anyone who equates anything other than what the likes of Pol pot, Stalin, Saddam, Mahmoud, and animals like them did are mentally ill. You cannot say that what the insurance companies do is the same, what they do may be immoral, but it's not the same.

I said you cannot hold them responsible on the floor of congress because it gets to be a big drama pool in there. Publically, we need to be respectful yes.

Watch congress, well it will put you to sleep most of the time but when they get to being dramatic it gets funny.

Nothing funny when elected officials, supposedly highly educated, Smart(well that's questionable)start name calling. They all need to grow up! Like I stated earlier they set a nice example for us.
