The Price Of Silence

A giant is slowly falling
Brought down to it's knees,
They took away it's freedom
Amid it's silenced pleas.
They took away it's God
As they bound it thick with chain,
They tried to take it's will
But what they took won't be regained.

There are those who stand to watch
Among them children too,
Whose eyes are wrought in sadness
Upon this mournful view.
Most that are against it
Take a silent stand,
They never speak a word
For they'd be silenced by some hand.
Some are paid their duties
Some are forced to stay
Most are content with blindness
As they turn their heads in shame.

Fearful of the leaders,
The ones who pay to kill,
Who sit upon their thrones,
While the shaken beast is stilled.
Thinking not of what's to come
Or what is being done
Something is being lost
Inside of each and every one.

This giant once a leader
Once made the people proud
Once gave them health and happiness
Till this plot to take it down.
It's ways are called too ancient
Inefficient to say the least
Unsuccumbed to power,
A bribe now slays this beast.

Where silence comes to aid
All that's had will all be lost,
What's gone is gone forever...
In silence all is lost.
