I remember once when I was about 11 yrs old I was sleeping over my grandmothers. I was on her couch in the middle of the night and I woke up petrified....looking down a hallway from where I was laying...I seen a woman in a long white dress (maybe a wedding dress)come from out of a bedroom and towards me rather fast. Before she got to me she was gone. I know this happened because my grandmothers poodle was lying next to me and she yelped and scrambled on the couch a bit to hide as it happened. I know the dog seen it too!
No one beleived me of coarse, they all said it was a bad dream. I could'nt very well ask the dog. I know what I saw back then. Thats kind of what happened this time. It was so real.So scairy too.

Stress can do alot to your body and your dreams are your bodies way of sorting out everything you see everyday. It's not anything that will hurt you, at all. They are dreams and everyone has them, although most do not remember, we are still having them.

When you encounter fearful dreams and you know what you are doing in them, try doing to them what they are doing to you. Give them the evil eye. It's your dream and you never know, perhaps you've been battling with something that is unconsciously bothering you and by facing it head on you may just feel better the next day, like a "relief".

Although, I do realize that dreams can represent the "future", by all means I have had those dreams. Dreamed once of a police chasing after me, the next day I got a ticket for running a stop sign! It does happen...But something as vivid as this sounds a lot like stress.

Here's something you can practice nightly before entering dreamland.

When you are comfortable and ready for bed, lie down on your back, your legs stretched out and your arms out beside your side. Take a few deep breathes, close your eyes and envision a large ball of light. This light can be something similar to the sun, it can be a ball of electricity or a glowing ball. However you want to imagine it.

Next, imagine that the ball is flowing slowly over your body, starting at the very tip of your head. Keeping your eyes closed and your body still, then imagine that the ball is flowing slowly through the rest of your body. Make the ball go slower through the areas that you are having problems, perhaps headaches? Stomach pain?

Just keep imagining that its going through your entire body, down to the tips of your fingers and, traveling through your blood down your legs and into your feet.

If you concentrate specifically on the ball and what you want it to do to your ailed body, then you should start feeling a "tingling" sensation. If you feel nothing that's ok. Just keep trying.

This is best done when you are alone and is meant as a "cleansing" for your body before sleep. It also acts as a "recharge". Kind of like how you recharge a battery.

It may take well over a week to master, but you should begin to feel a difference and maybe your dreams will calm down as well.

I did this alot when I was, "ahem" into other aspects of religion that I will not get into anymore. I did it along side meditation and I felt pretty good, better than before.

Do not think of the dream all that , get it out your head, do not feed it for it will only recur.Do you utmost best at night to put something in your head before bedtime, a good book , nothing terrifying to trigger any memory of such things. Find your fear and embrace it, find the root cause inside you find embrace it , let it go. It is weak it is u making it strong.

I got insomnia from nightmares..
If I can't cope.. idk what ta tell ya..
Drugs only enhanced them..
..I don't have much stress, that I notice..
So.. got me. *shrugg*

I've been there. And as odd as it may sound, try meditating. It will help you to relax, and clear your mind before bed, but you have to try with it, if not, it doesn't work at all. Good luck.

there was a time whan I was younger,

I had a floor to ceiling mirror leaning against the wall in my bedroom. One night I dreamed that there was a monster or demon or something really really evil standing over my bed reaching for me

and then I forced myself to wake up and I SWEAR I saw some kind of a shadow dive into the mirror and the surface of the glass rippled like water for about a minute as I watched it. and I WAS definitley awake cause of all the adrenaline

to this day I will not allow a mirror in my bedroom and wont sleep in a room with a mirror


Several nights ago, I had a dream, and I do not recall the content or even the nature of the dream. But when I woke up, I saw a bright figure standing at the foot of my bed. The "person" was of below average height and build (perhaps a few inches taller than me), feminine, and otherwise had no visible features. Perceptually, it was like looking at a person while also looking into the sun.

Immediately upon seeing this vision, I panicked, thinking someone had stolen into my room at night (despite the fact that my door was securely locked and I own the only existing key). My second reaction was of anger, and I quickly sat up in bed and raced to the foot of it to confront the intruder. As I brought my face to within an inch of that of the invader, the apparition disappeared. As it did so, I realized that I had been dreaming, but was now awake. The apparition was merely a product of my dream mind, and was no more real than any dream, although it certainly seemed real for that moment, and I can still vividly recall the sight of it.

Such occurrences are not uncommon to me, and to many dreamers. They are simply a manifestation of a mind slow to wake, thus dream elements bleed over into the real world in the time it takes to fully awaken.

I have nightmares and anxiety dreams as well..it's awful....I wish I had a sweetheart to wake up to...someone to hold on to when I wake up frightened...in do time...

Occassionally I have horrible, horrible dreams, I relate them to stress and things happening around me. Around the time my mom was ill, I would dream of my self being ill in awful ways. I've had random dreams of bad things happening to my kids,friends,pets ect..

The other night I had a dream that there was a man with long greasy hair and baggy clothes standing right next to my bed, he was holding something square and ominous over his head. I don't know what it was he was holding but I was petrified. I could have sworn I opened my eyes and seen him. I rolled to the other side of my bed and jumped up and flicked the light on...and nothing was there. It seemed so real (even though noone could possibly fit in the space he was standing) all day that dream bothered me. Anyone else go through this??


This sounds like an implanted memory to disguise an alien abduction.
But then sometimes, the 'alien abduction' is a false implanted memory to disguise Gov. mind control experiments. Then again it might just be a bad dream,

You can use self hypnosis techniques to assert some control over your dreams.
