On that note, ladies: do not ask about his last relationship. Gents: do not volunteer any info about your last relationship. Lets just go forward from the present and leave it at that. I disagree with this. I am always asked "what happened?!" and at first I give the basics. Doesn't offend me at all. Seems like a normal question. I wouldn't want to think he had anything to hide. |

I wouldn't have said that if I wasn't completely prepared to hear it.

It's not always a happy story, sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't, just be prepared to hear what you're going to hear, and don't jump to any conclusions. You know, sometimes the guy is the victim, or it's the guy who dumped her, not the other way around. Be aware of gender biases.
