I don't think it's gender specific, some people tend to remain stuck in the past, some choose to move on, has nothing to do with being male or female.

 my only hopes is that they get over it in a healthy way, and not in denial, or transference. Oh, and not forgetting misdirected anger.

I dont think its a male/female thing......its an INDIVIDUAL thing. Some men/women just cant get over their past.......its sad. They cant move forward into a productive loving life.

And they say they want that but they really dont.....because they couldnt handle it if they tried. They are too used to destruction and I kinda think they thrive on it, in a sense?

whomever is the first to decide to end it,,,usually.

If I end it,, its because I am ALREADY over it.
If he ends it,, I start to question what is wrong with me,,lol

These days I get over anything within minutes
After a while you harden to anything life has to throw at you

I have to agree with the majority. Gender is not the deciding factor in this scenario. But when you truely love someone its hard to not care anymore. That questioning is going to be in the back of your mind. I like to keep check on my ex husband and we still talk from time to time. But as for me and my ex fiance. I could careless about him. He chose a low of all lows. At least my ex husband and i attempted to work out our differences at the time.
