Oh my, Carter tells a simple truth and we deny it? Interesting but not surprising. I won't even bother getting long winded. I'm learning that no matter what I say it will be shouted down as liberal nonsense anyway.

I read some interesting stuff today about what happened to the republican party, I had been wondering for some time and about the evangelical radical right in our government. Might be interesting to those that might consider yet another interesting point of view..

http://frank-schaeffer.blogspot.com/

There's several good reads here about the current craziness and the point of view of an ex conservative fundementalist with famous parents who were also evangelical fundementalists and what they really want to achieve by way of political manipulation.

If you deny racism or a heavily dominated republican party with evangelical fundamentalists, you might want to avoid it.

I sad this in a topic I posted late 07 early 08 that I would love for nothing more than to take all the liberals and evangelicals, put them on a boat and torpedo it!

Well I would say that that is a bit short sighted since not all liberals and not all evangelicals are extremists. So thankfully that wouldn't be legal. Of course it probably gives one momenary satisfaction to think about it. Can't say I haven't thought the same of some extreme right wingers myself. :)

I think former President Carter was correct in what he stated. Racism is alive and well in this country.

You're right, it is, but its not just white racists. You live in the PHX area I'm sure at one point or another you've heard Mexicans talk about killin the honky white boy and takin back the south west! Theres racists in all ethnic groups. This nonsense about all these protests being based on racism is out and out unfounded. After 8 years of watching Dick Cheyney screw things up we had this guy promising change and yet to me and many others he's gonna make it worse, and Carter is a senile idiot, he sucked as a president and I bet he sucks as a college professor.

Isn't Obama the first president to have hanging effigies of him? Sure there's no major racism issues going on with Obama.noway It's normal to see hanging black men dolls representing our president.noway

Nope folks in Iraq and Muslims did it to Bush, be we aren't so naive to think there's no racism involved with Obama are we?

I can't see it, but if you are talking about the pic where Palin is hanging from a tree, I thought that was equally tasteless.

I remember the folks in Iraq and Muslims doing that to Bush. I thought that it was a strange custom.

I don't think they're being naive. I think that they just don't want to admit that there's racism involved with Obama. It is so obvious that there's racism towards him. How can one not see it unless they lived in a bubble?

Point one, racism, from the majority has yet to be proven.

Point two, BHO is mulatto, a percentage white, technically labeled black because of the one drop rule.
Just because he hates his mamma, don't make him any less white. .....................................

Seems to me that he adores his momma. He is black because his father is black, he is white because his mother is white. He has been treated, most likely, like a black man because he looks more like one. The point is though, that people have the right to their opinion and I dont think Carters opinion makes him senile.

Some people see racism anywhere, some people refuse to see racism unless it is blatant and obvious,, others are in the middle. I think Carter is most likely in the middle. But it is a shame that race has to be a consideration. It never was up to this point...

This isn't my line of thinking. I don't like him because he belongs to Corporate America and looks out for only their interests. That and Media put him in office when, there were more qualified candidates available and I ain't counting McCain as one of 'em.

These are just a couple alternative views I found.

Why White Supremacists and one Black Extremist Support Barack Obama.

If recent polls are to be believed, white voters favor John McCain over Barack Obama by nearly ten percentage points, but the McCain and Obama camps probably haven’t factored in the following fact: In an informal Esquire survey, three out of four white supremacists prefer Obama, while McCain is the clear favorite among black nationalists. (Sure, our methodology suffered from an extraordinarily low sample size--limited to four white supremacists and one black nationalist--but just because it wouldn’t fly with Gallup doesn’t mean there ain't a kernel of truth in there.) This is just one of many surprising views that emerged after we talked to extremists about this historic electoral showdown between a 46-year-old black man and a 71-year-old white man.

I am a white male American. Because of this fact, and if I was to say that I am anti-Obama, they automatically call me a racesist. Humm. Me not being a racesist, that really bothers me. I think that the people that screams raceisum all the time are the people that are racesist. Humm, Have you noticed that when in a debate or conversation, when the racesist party is losing, what do they scream? RACESIST! Sorry folks not trying to offend anyone. I'll invite anyone to read my blogs, that will definitively show my position on this subject. Ok sorry, short and sweet..... There's only one race, the human race:)

I am sure that every country in the world has racism and this is no secret at all . The reality is Barack Obama is a president and therefore all his programs are open to criticism and debate .
It does not matter what his back round is the fact is he is a politician and his politics is on the table for everyone to see and criticize .

Political debate is one thing but people are crossing the line and spreading hate and lies. They use the political debate as a Smoke Screen for racists.
So you gonna close the door to debate??? Sounds like tyrrany.

Why is everyone concerned with race? A good majority of the replys I've read are reffering to Obama's skin color. Everyone left or right. LET IT GO!!!!! He is a human being. Now based on his character, Do you agree with him or not?

No race issues with Obama? They are there. One has to live in a bubble to not see it.

What about the signs that have Obama white faced? The signs that say, "Go back to Kenya?" The signs that call him witch doctor?

Regan was compared to Bonzo.
Sure, some have issues with him only being half white, half black or Mullato.
It, however, isn't the rule or the majority and it is slanderous to claim racism when it can't be proven.

If you were to call me a racist, I could sue you for slander and win. You have the burden of proof and you have no evidence at all.
