So in his address to congress when Obama said illegals wont be covered under his plan did he lie? He called those who say in this bill illegals will be covered liers. Is it ok for the president to do it?

I believe boo brought this point up earlier.

This same Joe "You lie!" Wilson later claimed in an interview that he had been an immigration attorney. Well Joe it is now apparent that
"YOU LIE!". No evidence can be found that he was ever an immigration attorney. How ironic.

I think the talk that I heard about the babies being assured of citizenship was for when the slaves were finally freed - since their parents were considered property it was to make sure the children of the freed slaves were considered US citizens. I do believe that was intent. It was not intended for all children born in the US to be US citizens regardless of their parentage. If I could remember who said it I would post that but it was on a news program.

Some one posted that here at mingle, but since I never heard that nor do I know what it might have to do with Anchor babies I didn't comment. I think the worst thing we can do is pass on stories that have not been validated by better sources than hearsay. Yes I know, if it's a liberal source it's a lie, and if it's a conservative source it's a lie... we need to get over that, and listen to both versions and take the one lying to task, because in the end it hurts you and me.

Example: if the Obama health care plan (Not Baucus's plan) is actually good for us as Americans and we fall for lies about it, we are the ones hurt.

If Backus's health care plan had been the only one out there, I would have said no plan is better than a plan that only serves the insurers etc.. a bad plan is a bad plan. I would go for one as described by Obama over and over, but that does not mean that in the end it will even remotely resemble it, so there's no way to be sure until there is a final plan to examine. To be very honest at this point I am not holding out hope because no one is being held responsible for the out right lies and half truths.

I am a bit weary of hearing people like Mike Huckabee who's suppose to be a baptist minister talk about how concerned his is about the lies, yet he invited a couple to come sing a song about the health care bill which had ever lie that has been put out so far in that song. I used to pretty naive in my 20's, I thought preachers were forbidden to lie. I guess when your agenda is threatened lies aren't so bad, and if your audience is so trained to obey their religious figures whom they would never supposed would lie to them, their free to get away with it.

What if he really believes he was lying? What if he was lying? If someones lying or you think they are why not say it. Alot of people lie on mingle. They say terrible hurtfull things. And when someone calls them out that person is called a facist or a nazi. Thats not very nice. KARMA will get you. Dont lie.

Politics is petty and trite. Its not about whats best for the country but whats best for the party, and people eat this **** up. Look at how many people vote party lines "I know so and so might not be the best candidate, but at least it aint that other guy!". that is sickness this country must eradicate.
