I read 1984 years and years ago I thought it was boring and poorly narrated I wondered why I had bothered Farenheit 451 was much better Make Room Make Room (the book Soylent Green was based on) was even better Isaac Asimov's Caves of Steel was the best though I haven't read the book Make Room Make Room, (I'll have to read it) but Soylent Green was a deep movie! |

So many books, so little time.
Makes me think of that Twilight Zone episode where the guy loves to read. That's all he wants to do but he has a nagging wife who thinks its stupid and a full time job. Then one day, a bomb goes off and everyone in the world is killed but he survives. At first he is upset, but then realizes that he has all the time in the world to read now. He is so happy. Until he accidentally steps on his glasses. |

Make Room Make Room was by Harry Harrison (who also wrote the Stainless Steel Rat series) Isaac Asimov's Caves of Steel was a continuation of the "I Robot" series (movie with Will Smith) where the anti-robot detective {played by Will Smith in the movie) is paired with a human looking robot detective. very good exposition on human prejudice that he was trying to parallel with race relations in the 50's and 60's |

My current read is the 7th book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J. R. Ward. This one is called "Lover Avenged."
The previous 6 books were excellent and this one (so far) is very much living up to my expectations. I highly reccomend the BDB series to anyone who favors the paranormal-romance subgenre. This series has a very fresh, new take on the 'vampire' world. |

Charles Bukowski...LOVE HIM....I recommend him highly, especially if you are a bit twisted and lived, lets say, a colorful life! Also, there is a documentary out there about him...you should watch it first, then read, it will help you understand his mind.
