Ode To Packing

Such pleasure
in the treasures you find.
Some are unopened.
Some are the kind,
always left
where you will see,
what is inside
or empty, indeed.
Still a box is place
to contain and to spill
put it away
bring it out again, thrill.
How they are kept
now, that is the secret.
It's all in the wrapping
whether there's regret.
Precious can break,
not easily repaired.
Out of protection
It's open and bared.
Yes, a box is a box,
and well to remember
Keep this side up
Open this before December.
