Topic: what would you do in his position? | |
---|---|
so my roomate and i were cleaning on wednesday and the lance corporal came and told us that our room looked good and for the next morning to just wipe down everything so there would be no dust.We say ok and he leaves,we think were done so we get into our civis and go out to grab some snacks and drinks. We come back and there are 2 lance corporals who say they were looking for us and they were wondering why we werent in our room cleaning. So he says that the lance corporal who first came to see us said we were done so we went out to get food, they brought back the lance corporal who saw us first and he told the story. He said thats not what happened and called him a liar, they all got mad and told us to get in and clean our rooms. We clean and 10 minutes later that very lance corporal who called him a liar came up to the window and said,"you guys are gonna get f@#*ed up.He leaves and about 30 minutes later 5 lance corporals came into our room and told me to get out. So i rushed out and they closed the door shut the window and closed the curtain, and all i can hear is yelling and things getting thrown around. They messed up our room and my roomate, and now he is known as a liar and all the lance corporals and corporals hate him.Now they constantly come in and make him clean, and mess with him
so would you stay in the marine corp. if you were in his situation? or what would you even do in his situation? would you stick it out? or go UA in order for it to stop? |

It is **** like this that prevented me from ever joining up. Personally I would get all chamoed up and ambush them one at a time. They would have been lucky if I didn't shove a grenade up each of their ***** minus the pin.
Now one question is do they show any animosity towards you? If not take it for granted your room mate pissed them off royally. The military is a world all its own. Now calling them out may or may not be an answer. Then again catching them off base and having a brew and finding out what made them hate your room mate so much man to man may answer some questions and take heat off of you. You may be suffering guilt by association. There is a way of being diplomatic with bullet heads. You could request to be bunked up with someone else. Distance from a trouble maker helps. Ratting them off will make you more trouble. Again in a world of warriors the only answer may be calling them to the mat and letting them have it like a man and take your licks as well. Getting your *** kicked and coming back for more actually may earn their respect. There is no lost honor loosing as long as you do it with honor. People in the military generally hate whiners. Military diplomacy and criminal diplomacy are oddly parallel in a lot of ways. I had a friend in HS that became an Army Ranger and he came back from training a very different man. When I seen him for the first time in months he looked like he wanted to kill me until he realized who he was looking at. A skinny black kid my age and my size came back diamond cut and I know the look in a person's eyes when they can and will kill you without a thought. He had a lot to say about his indoctrination and how respect was earned in his ranks. My neighbor is a retired Marine (Viet Nam era and she (yes, her name is Jonie and she was one of the first female marines) had to deal with a lot of respect issues). I likewise had other friends in the Navy and Air Force. They all were a world of information. You have not earned your 'stripes' yet. PFCs are 'baby boys' in general. Coming off too friendly can be just as bad as coming off as a dick. The Marines is a culture of Warriors like any branch of the military and if your room mate provoked trust issues he is fuqued. Trust is everything in the Marines PERIOD! I think this is where the problems lie. There are ways of bartering a position of insulation from his sins but I don't have enough information to go on and I do not know enough about your situation to really have a lot of information for you but trying to find out from one of the Lance Corporals what the hell is going on may help. If it is a matter of blind disrespect you may have to be ready to call them out in front of a Sergeant who may just want to watch a good fight. Sometimes you got to let your knuckles do the talking. Then again the corporal you address may very well tell you why they hate him so much. That may buy you points with them enough to when they trash your quarters they may leave your bunk alone but not his. People that do not fly straight in the Military don't last long because again trust is everything. If the guy going into combat is a liar how can you trust him to watch your back when **** gets hot? Just in case it comes up because I was never in the Military, I do not believe in armed rebellion against our government but as God is my witness if some AH comes from another country in a uniform or turban trying to harm us and take our land I will take my weapons and kill as many of them I can and live to kill them all. I do not need a commander to tell me to protect my ground. If my harassment of the enemy helps the military to take our ground back I am doing my duty for my country and community! Call me an American Partisan if you may. I am not afraid to fight for my country. I don't want my hands tied behind my back by idiots and politicians when I do fight! Then again I am not a warrior. I'm just a man who wants to live a good life but you have to be willing to fight for what is right. I have to imagine that is part of what motivated you to join up. I have all the love in the world for our fighting forces but sometimes I can be taken out of context by people who don't know me. Hopefully you can find a diplomatic way out of what you are facing. Just don't go down as a squealer! Good luck! |

your an oddball. You just got to grunt it through. Once you get your second stripe you are all the way in. I got to say you have a rather unique reason to join. Well, actually a rare reason. That is what made you an odd ball. Nothing wrong with that but they are going to make you earn your second stripe putting up with their sheet. They you will be past being the Odd Ball!

I had to look it up. I'm not familiar with Marines lance corporals are E-3's? hell they are barely out of boot camp he can either suck it up or run it's his choice Yeah, I'm trying to put myself in his place. I never remember taking any **** from anyone like that, except for maybe my first sergeant. And that was rare, because my **** was always squared away. Maybe they're just messing with him to see how he's going to react. I think Quietman is right. He could just tell them to **** themselves and see what happens. Or just keep his **** so tight for the next few weeks that they have no reason to screw with him. Or go UA and get reassigned maybe. I don't know how that stuff works, but I don't think they shoot you for desertion when you are state-side. |
