I think I have it all figured out. Young guys have energy and lots of testosterone which can get them in trouble sometimes. Enter the older woman who can harness that energy and help burn up some of the testosterone . Nice balance.
Young gals are often too big for their own good, flighty, spoiled and sometimes not able to deal with the everyday demands of her male counterpart thus becomes pouty, sullen, pissy and clingy. Enter the older man who is flattered by all of these behaviors and soon takes the young gal under his wing and into his bed. |

I dated a couple of guys that were about 10 years younger than me. Both very nice guys, but I'm out of my going to bars all the time phase. I've been there done that.
And this is where the boy years come into play. It's kind of like dog years. If they're 25, then mentally they're still 18. LOL. So from now on I'm going to stick to someone closer to my own age. |

I wish I could say I'm keeping it to someone closer to my age but lately it seems the only ones I run into or meet are way to young for me. And I don't want to hear age is only a number. To me it's not.

I agree and have said that... but well sometimes, most of the time the attraction just isn't there.. I made my limit and still rarely get anyone above that limit that emails or talks to me unless there's of course just nothing there... |

I have done the widow thing so not going to date some guy I am going to out live by years and years.
Considerably younger does not interest either. Don't need the drama of reliving all that career crunch and teen/twenties kids stuff. I like the empty nest I have so why reclutter my life. |

I know we've had topics on this subject before.. I was just thinking about it due to a recent conversation with a friend of mine.. For me dating too much younger is not good b/c at some point there is nothing in common... But going a little higher can be too young b/c when you start aging, which we all do... how badly would it hurt to be left b/c now you're just too old... For me, I see it like this up to 5 years younger = probably a very good and sound idea up to 10 years younger = might have some differences in our thinking, more than likely would not go younger than this, sex would be great especially for me because she should have plenty of energy or at least I would think so up to 15 years younger = not likely, it would have to be a really unusual situation like......., and I would probably have to get extra life insurance in case she screws me to death , but more than likely a relationship with someone this young would more than likely not last. She would have to prove me wrong. Up to 5 years older = not my preference, but I would definitely do with the right person, more than likely would work out without too many age related problems Up to 10 years older = still a possibility but only if she can handle having sex still, would be nice though because more than likely she would be into conversation which I enjoy anyways. But she needs to "not" look older than her age. Up to 15 years older = that is probably a one in a thousand shot. Not saying it could not happen but more than likely it would not, there would be one condition, she would not be allowed to put her false teeth in a glass on the nightstand next to us though |
