Yhen I say go with what makes you happy. Understand where Katie is
coming from, was married to someone like her real dad, sorry you went
through that.

Pick a name you are both happy with and go for it. But I agree with
Poet - Squarepants is cool you know, but may run into copyrights issues,
especially if you have a baby and name it Spongebob, just my 2 cents.

I have a question first...

is it possible to take some name your family had before?

I didn't know that was something you could do?!

I worked with a woman who changed her name after her divorce because her
husband was violent - totally changed her name, but was a hassle, had to
change social security card, bank accounts, whole nine yards, did it
through the court system. But she did it to hide from him.

It's not that big of a hassle to change back to a maiden name. I did it
after my 2nd divorce, all I had to do was show my divorce papers, and at
the bank, all I had to do was tell them.

To do what you're talking about Chris, you'd have to go before a judge,
all they do is ask if you're changing names to hide from creditors or
anything, they'll pretty much approve anything.

I think both of our last names sound good...they arent weird...just we
have issues with the people who gave us our last names
