They are way more stylish than Tevo sandals, Birkenstocks, Crocs, and the other ugly sandals that most people wear! If they look like camping, hiking or rafting sandals then you have a topic!

Flip flops are totally California beachwear! I don't think they are necessarily cheap either. Mine are about $15-25 a pair at Macy's.

As to footwear......who dresses for others?

Well, Im a native Floridian, and have been wearing them all my life.


They go with just about everything, and I refuse to wear uncomfortable shoes.


I wear them when appropriate.


I dont own any cheesy plasticy ones.

I wouldn't wear the cheap $4 pairs, but I do have a pair of Nike Gel Sole ones that were about $35 and I LOVE them. They really hold up well and have an arch support to them. I also have a pair of Speedo flip flops, not as comfortable, but they have a leather toe thong rather than the horribly painful plastic ones that the cheap ones have.

Now I just read a disgusting article on the cheap flip flops and they are a magnet for germs, 18,000 types of germs found on them after a week in NYC, including feces. And yes, it did make me wonder what's on mine even though I don't live in a dirty city.

My eldest girl and I have been playing bushmen of Kalahari...and setting up electric fences for a friend's horse who has been standing on dust for weeks, (with the no rain) we still have green pick here...so have helped reduce her mare's feed bill...

all of course in traditional aussie garb....bare foot!
