so i dont know if yall know what pimentos are but here my situation with pimentos.
my granny had a small jar of pimentos and the top layer of the jar where covered in green think mold.i showed my granny and she said shed take care of them.that was maybe on Sunday well today i go into the fridge and there is the same glass jar and the mold had been cleaned out but some was on the inside rim of the jar.and the water looked cloudy well i threw it out.i didnt want them to eat any moldy food,i know it was theirs but i dont think they needed to continue eating it! well i sent them down the disposal and threw the can out in the trash. was this the right thing to do? |

Aside from my personal preference of not having them within a mile of me anyway...yeah, I would have tossed them too.

I would think that pimentos would be in the same family with olives and man oh man can you get sick from bad olives! Some of our older folks are from the Depression Era or the product thereof and they don't throw anything out EVER. I saw my Dad pour some warm old milk over ice in a glass and drink it! Thought I would die. Thought he would too!

Yeah, of COURSE throw them out, if it were YOUR fridge, and you saw that wouldnt YOU?
I cared fo an elderly man who was in his 90s. He tried to save things like used paper plates.. the heel from the bread.. (forever) wouldnt throw anything out.. I had to all the time be on the lookout for the wierd stuff hed try to keep. hed also make a pound of pasta at a time for himself in a big bowl, and try to eat on it for weeks.. same with beans and rice. AH AH. AT very least this stuff will screw up your bowels. Don listen to the old peopleeee! ha ha! |

Hmmmm......mould.....
I like the really weird ones that start off green and fluffy then morph into all these really cool colours, and have little volcanoes, and valleys, and I am sure if it hides in the back of the fridge long enough, we would discover a whole new race of teeny tiny people... |

I lived in a house in florida with black mold for 6 months, never got sick, your lungs are like sponges and it stays with you

I think having this imagination can be a curse at times.;( I can picture this poor woman w/a EMT's collective bag strapped near her toes on the stretcher. She's clutching her stomach, screaming in agony & reciting bible versus.;( That's a whole lot of McNasty.Ummm!yes it's fair to say that it should be disposed of ASAP.

Green is great for frogs, trees, money, and such...
but pimintos.... ill take my martini without the olive, "thank you". |
|
|

No !!!! Please don't ever do that again. What you should have done was go to Wikapedia and find out how to make Penicillin. Then get on ebay and buy a chemistry set and start to cooking. There are kids in Ethiopia who are in desperate need of Penicillin. That would be the right thing to do and that way you will not be like any other wasteful American. Have a good day !!!

You would have to use bread mold. I don't know that you can turn pimento mold into penicillin.
Yes, throwing it out is the best thing. |
