Ummm, well.. My sons dad is a Dr. and I spent my entire pregnancy on government assistance, not a penny from him, and gave birth alone.

Flowers might have been nice.. orrrr. a hallmark card.

Actually, I was just making a joke. No, I don't get child support but that's a choice I made. My circumstances are different than most. My ex and I share custody, one week on, one week off and we make about the same amount of money. So, he pays expenses when my son is with dad, I pay when he's with me. Out-of-the-ordinary, we split down the middle (uncovered medical, school expenses, his health insurance costs, etc.). While I do buy most of his clothes (which I'm working on his dad to kick in a little more for that), mostly, things work out pretty evenly and it our system works out well. There's little animosity and we co-parent far better now than we did when we lived together. So, it's all good.

I got a refund on something from the government (taxes, maybe?) of an overpayment for 50 cents once. I threw it away, wasn't worth the gas it would've taken to go to the bank to deposit it laugh

It's good to hear some can actually co-parent so well. I wish it could be that way for all of us.

It's not easy, and there are moments when I wonder what the hell I'm thinking. But most of the time, it's ok. My ex even lives just down the street. It makes it easier on my son to just go back and forth as he chooses. But, it is, admittedly, a little weird laugh

My Ex GF's EX husband owes her more than 60K on back child support. I kept telling her to take his driver's license away (Through the court system) and she kept giving me this sob story how that would make him not get a job (and trust me the man is employable, he has delusions of an eBay business while mommy and daddy put him up in a house in Venice beach.) I got pissed off one night and went off on her for an hour about how she was empowering him and it was time to stop with the excuses and sick Child Services on him. One thing led to another and the new judge on the case seen her Ex Husband for what he was and Mom and Dad now are facing having to eat his responsibilities. The court flatly ordered him to get a job. His reason for not getting a real job?

Get out your tear drops and tiny violins,

"I don't like the corporate environment."

He was making over 100K a year and suddenly he wants to live the Bohemian life style in the face of his responsibilities? men like him make me want to beat on men like this and take their money from them so I don't kick their butts again!

My ex finally got a moment of satisfaction when the Judge LAMBASTED her Ex husband in court openly and told his defense attorney to either explain the gravity of the situation to his client or his client was facing not only loss of drivers license but jail time if he pissed the judge off any more. He did not want to hear any, ANY excuses. The judge gave him one year to provide proof he had a job. If not, well, he had a year. The funny thing was the judge also seen that the parents supporting him was undermining everything and it boiled down to if he doesn't get his act together the money is coming out of mom and dad's pocket because their supporting him means they accept financial responsibility for him. Needless to say men like this make it look bad for the rest of us.

Nobody like whining cry babies!

Due to a problem at FOC, they withdrew too much money from my check for a few months (I OVERPAID). So now they are sending me a check every two weeks for $40.laugh

It's not much, but I have to admit, I enjoy cashing the check every two weeks.
